  1. Soviet method, make a fire under the engine, and leave it as coals all night long, so that in morning engine is nice and warm, plus as you are sleeping in cab you are toasty as well. Worked well on Soviet tanks in the field, as the engines are air cooled, so no water pipes to fail from cooking, plus the crew could be up and running in seconds as they were attacked.

Great north trucker method, just leave the engine idling all night, engine is warm, cab is warm and you have power for TV and DVD player in cab.

  2. Good day from Ont. Canada Good video. Also your frost plug heater is only 750 watts & circulating heater is usually 1500 watts. If you can get one for that kind of money send me 1 Thanks good video. I can't see how those magnetic oil heater really help start engine, helps heat oil. At the end your phone showed 134F, boy any diesel should start.

  3. I put one of those on my S10 when I lived in Wisconsin. Dealing with days where the high was in the negative double digits, it was a lifesaver. On top of that, instant heat was amazing lol

  4. Interesting video. We used tank heaters on our 855 cid Cummins road tractors. The were plugged in when when the engine was still warm. All of our 3 prong receptacles had an on/off switch so you wouldn’t get a shock when you plugged the extension cord in. They worked great for us.
Like you said, they have to mounted vertically.
