  1. The phrase "the whole kit and caboodle" refers to the entire collection or group of something, and its origin is rooted in 19th-century America. The phrase is a combination of "kit," which originally meant a soldier's personal belongings or equipment, and "caboodle," a term thought to be an alteration of "boodle," which meant a crowd or collection of things, possibly derived from the Dutch word "boedel" meaning property,

  2. This expression is a redundancy, for kit has meant “a collection or group” since the mid-1700s (though this meaning survives only in the full idiom today), and caboodle has been used with the same meaning since the 1840s. In fact caboodle is thought to be a corruption of the phrase kit and boodle, another redundant phrase, since boodle also meant “a collection.”

  3. Another QUALITY battery replacement at PRNY SMA Avoca, by certified ASE Master Technician Eric O. !!!!!! No loose parts, missing parts, or broken / damaged parts !!!! Perfection at its finest !!!!! 😸 Approved by Watch Cat LUNA OBROCHTA👍👍 !!!!!!

  4. Battery in the trunk? Of a Cadillac?? Not enough room in the engine bay…OF A CADILLAC?? Plus all of that cable length. The Engineer must have had a friend in the battery cable business.

  5. The idiom "the whole kit and caboodle" refers to everything, the entire lot of something. It's believed to have originated in the mid-19th century in the United States, though older versions like "the whole kit and boodle" and "the whole kit and cargo" existed earlier. The phrase is thought to have evolved from "the whole kit," meaning a collection, to "the whole kit and boodle," and then to "the whole kit and caboodle" for alliterative purposes.

  6. I'm 78, nearly 79, and I don't EVER remember a cars door handle breaking off on any car, let alone like it did on this GM Piece Of Shit "top of the line" Cadillac.

  7. Apparently, the phrase began as “the whole kit and boodle.” Kit meaning collection and boodle is thought to have derived from the Old-English word for bottel – meaning a bunch or bundle. Researchers believe the phrase morphed to “kit and caboodle” for alliterative purposes…according to google.

  8. That wasn't even the expensive AC Delco Gold battery. Only had 35 months warranty. Just replaced one of two batteries in my Silverado Diesel with a 42 month warranty AC Delco that is made in Korea. Not sure if that is better than China or not. Only 250 Canuck Bucks for it though.

  9. I’m looking at rigging up a battery tender to mine. So I don’t have to keep taking all the tink liner out to plug it in when I put it away for the winter.

  10. My dads 7.3 f250 had a battery go bad. He got 2 new ones both Motorcraft, like the old ones. I took the one that was still good and put it in my 2000 v6 mustang. Sits sideways in the battery tray until it broke the side of the tray. Had to move the terminals to reach it right. That battery is still going. 8 years old now. Starts fine. He has since replaced his batteries agian. I put the still good one in my tractor. It's still going. Got agm batteries now. Got tired of terminal corrosion.

  11. The phrase "kit and caboodle" is a whimsical term that means "the whole lot" or "everything." Its origin is a bit murky, but it’s believed to have evolved from "kit and boodle."

    Here’s a quick breakdown:

    – **Kit**: This term dates back to at least the 14th century, originally referring to a soldier's equipment or gear. It still carries that meaning today, often indicating a set of tools or supplies.

    – **Caboodle (or boodle)**: This word is a bit more mysterious. "Boodle" is thought to have come from the Dutch word "boedel," meaning property or estate. Over time, "boodle" transformed into "caboodle," possibly for the sake of alliteration and a catchy rhythm.

When combined, "kit and caboodle" playfully emphasizes the entirety of something, every piece and parcel. Language can be quite the playful beast, don’t you think? AI's response.

  12. 1:14 back when we held people accountable for their own stupid actions rather than awarding them money and holding the company responsible for not including safe guards for every stupid thing someone might try to do with their product. Those were the days!

  13. Thank goodness I retired in 2020 at a caddy dealer. I’ve done my fair share of Northstar reseals and all the GM BS electrical I can possibly handle. Whew. Well in my own garage I still do work on Northstars. Due to a lot of the caddy techs now wont work on them. I will. There not that bad.

  14. Knocking on the door of 1 million subs does not surprise me, This guy is the best and most realistic mechanic who shares tons of info and crazy thoughts. Thanks for not be a pussy and wearing gloves like all the fakes out there in youtube world

  15. Just replaced the batteries in my 2020 2500 Duramax. These modern vehicles do some funky stiff just before the battery completely dies. my odometer went dark mid trip. It started with an occasional weird symptom strange things like the radio would go blank or freeze up, the speedometer would stop working, etc, months before they gave out completely.

Put new batteries, no more anomalies.

  16. Apparently the phrase began as the whole kit.And boodle kit meaning collection and boodle, is thought to have a derived from the Old English word bottle, meaning a bunch or bundle.Researchers believe the phrase more to kit and Kaboodle, for alternative purposes.
