Here in oregon if you get sentenced to a year or less you serve it all in county jail . a year and a day up prison in jail were i was at many many times you couldent ever go outside locked down 20 hours a day garbage food and very small amounts the only entertainment is books you cant get tvs radios nothing u never hear music the tvs up so high i cant see it its so loud u cant hear it and you only get an hour max at a time to even watch it in the day room no movies not enough times no yard no basketball jack crap always starving the beds are thin little mats on concrete slabs so painful you cant sleep no pillows either

10. Here's the thing…..in jail, there's still hope of getting out, and a lot of pride. The streets comes into one place. There's more petty behavior. Prison is more eerie, like walking through an alley that's too quiet. Not as actively hostile, but the environment is broken and nothing to lose. When there is violence, it's generally a lot worse when hard criminals snap.

11. I feel you, brother ….hoping that time goes by faster is one of the worst parts, though….You may want to speed up your time through prison, but slicing 7 years out of your life is a big chunk.

12. Long story short:
    I was arrested for a OWI once. Got to the jail. They actually gave me more than 1 phone call. Called 2 people. I went to & stayed in holding since I couldn't find a ride at the time. I was the only one in my holding cell. Later that day it was my mom that picked me up. The food was absolute shit. It was the longest day of my life.

15. My uncle was in jail for breech of the peace and he knocked the cop out but when he was in the jail he said the damn place was haunted some kind of poltergeist and it freaked a lot of the prisoners out even the hard tough ones

16. California law for non violent offense should be unconstitutional. I knew somebody who racked up 8 years in dope charges and has to do all of them in county jail

31. I've been in 10 times more fights in jail than in prison. They're worse too cus there usually isnt much room to work with in jail.
