A homeless woman tells her story…

This is the first video brought to us by an APS corespondent. Jeff sat with a woman named Liz who is homeless, and battles addiction. And also was denied medical treatment because of that. Is this the way things are supposed to be. I didn’t think hospitals were allowed to denied treatment to anyone. Use the google form or send email too: contact@afterprisonshow.com

  1. Omg.. This is almost my story. I was put on methadone for 9 years for chronic pain. I have lupus and had cancer. After losing my husband to cancer, ;raising two kids alone. I did not want to take the narcotics as addiction run heavy in my family blood. Let me tell you,. I was treated so badly by Drs in ERs and such. They assumed I was a drug addict. I tried so hard to stop .. I was finally successful this April. Don't let Dr's put you on this shit folks . Bad stuff. I would take cancer before I went through that again,. It was real hard. It took a toll on my system. It is like watching your life pass you by as you just sit and blink. But when you try to stop it is like your bones are being crushed. And is very long lasting.

  2. Yup…I had blood pouring from a feeding tube and couldn't get a Tylenol. I was also being ignored like she was, so I popped open the feeding tube and bled on their desk. They did take me back after that though.

  3. @Joe: There is a lot of despair on the streets, each homeless person has a life story that brought them there and not everyone on the street is an addict. The hospitals are overcrowded and so are the jails. Once the states began closing the mental health facilities across the country they closed off many resources that were available to people needing help and getting the help they need to turn their life around. At the same time the states also cut General Assistance Aid (which was available through Dept of Welfare, Health & Human Services) Mental health patients, veterans etc were receiving these monies to help rent costs and food. So that left many many in the streets. Granted some may be there by choice but the percentage of that is very low. The fact is any one of us could be there also at any time whether due to sudden financial devastation, tragic loss or despaired. We must all remember to have compassion for our fellow man. As far as the woman's hospital visit is concerned on the other side of the coin all hospitals across the country are overcrowded, overworked and understaffed. There are two sides to every story. Thank you for sharing.

  4. Thank you for being so courageous, uplifting and inspiring with sharing these things…I truly think it's ppl like u who want to spread the TRUTH, and real ass messages for ppl to see, that NEED to have a big platform and respect! There's all these kids, lil kiddies millions of them loookin up to ppl like JAKE Paul and they aren't gonna kno what hit them if they keep aspiring to be ppl like that. These ppl , these kids on here NEED to see the real life of what's ahead of them or be aware so they don't make the same bad choices. 5. his story invovles addiction my daughter being born him being arrested a plea deal and homelessness ..and a violent crime..police lying on the stand ..and stereo types please Joe contact me i promise this story is worth being heard

  6. Many people in the comments have a view of addiction that is heavily influenced by propaganda. Mix that with the inability to put themselves in someone else's shoes, and they wonder why the problem is only getting worse.
