26. Hey Joe, it’s your unsolicited vernacular coach! The word you were looking for when you said “tyrant” (in a sentence like “Yanni was going on a tyrant”) is “tirade”, pronounced “tie-raid”.

    A tyrant, on the other hand, is a dictator, or, colloquially, a cruel person.

    It’s understandable why you’d confuse the two because they’re both in the same ballpark, but I assure you they’re different words.
