This video covers my initial tear down of the car including engine and transmission removal. I also fab up a center support so that I can mount the new ratchet shifter to the center console. This support also gives the body a little more structure. Later model Factory Five cars have a center support already included. I also talk about my plans for foot box support as well as other planned mods for this car.

Was that under water? How about an update.
There any new videos on this project?
Any updates on this re-build?
MY OCD has kicked in, that thing needs a complete cleaning and powder coating.
Your videos are easy to watch and listen to. Your explanations are excellent. I’m looking forward to future episodes.
I really enjoyed him taking the car back apart.
Eric bro set this to some Metallica or somethin this music is vulgar
Is that original powder coat from the factory on the frame? Looks like a lot of surface rust.
I hope the owner got a good enough deal on this half finished kit to warrant all of the labor hours to dismantle, clean, prep, and reassembly. Lots of work.
Loving this project. Good shout to take the time to do it right rather than scrambling around to make weekly videos 🙂
Did the owner bail on the project?
Ton of progress looks good @EricTheCarGuy
The amount of rivets are insane 😳 🤣 @EricTheCarGuy
The modifications looks great 👍👌 @EricTheCarGuy
Oh man a factory 5 that is sweet @EricTheCarGuy
o.k., I'm a pretty patient guy but are we soon getting another episode?
I think by the time you clean everything up the project should have started out with a new kit
Cant see where money is saved by using something like that unless its your own but to pay someone to build it for a customer great deal for the mechanic doing the work on a time / material basis
Kick ass eric
this might be a good series to watch , plus it may help you update your chassis … FF has a complete series on how to build a cobra .. plus your friend is in valuable oh yea , i would call and see if they had any NOS for the mark I
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-I4-_ecNUfk
I can see your chassis number but I can't tell if its 1597 or 597 from what I can make out.
why not use Nut-serts instead of rivets?
21:00 in i was about to ask how many drill bits were used in the rivets, but you answered that a few seconds later
Are we going to see more factory 5 vids? Kinda love it!
Thanks for the video looking forward to the build
that sheet metal would be murder on the hands , I'd wear gloves too
How much are you charging for something like this id imagine a lot
