Here is an easy repair you can perform and save yourself a lot of money in the process. You might be surprised at how easy this really is. I think the hardest part will be sourcing the bulbs, but I’ve made that easy for you further down in the description.

  1. Settings bulbs went out on the HVAC controls of my Pilot. Honda wanted $13 per bulb. Ridiculous.

So I just ordered the actual bulb (not the plastic holder of the unit) from Amazon. Ten pack for a few dollars. After that just trivially replace the glass bulb in the plastic holder and save yourself a hundred dollars.

  2. Thanks! Is it possible to replace the factory wiring to the stereo? Mine was cut before I got it and I would like to avoid splicing it back together if possible.

  3. Thank you SO much for this – I just swapped mine out and it only took a few minutes thanks to you sharing. Much appreciated!!

  4. Most impressive part of the video is how you were album to pull that bulb out with one hand so flawlessly. I can’t get it out for the life of me.

  5. Thank You for Your video! You have part number for the dial bulb a little wrong in your description. It’s 79629-S3V-A01. Love my element 🙂

  6. Came here just to see how to do this. I just bought a 2008 EX-P and the fan speed light is out.
question: worth swapping all the bulbs out to LED style bulbs? and if so, which ones would you recomment?

    2nd stupid question:
are the CH / Vol / Mode / RES accel / Cancel / Set Decel buttons on the steering wheel supposed to be illuminated?

  7. I always wondered why the hazard lights had so many damn wires… it's seems like it should just be an on/off switch with a single wire!?! LOL

  8. That damn beeping noise is SO annoying, I’m going to find that freaking thing and rip it out of my Element. As I understand it’s hidden away in the cluster panel. 😤

  9. Thanks for the vid! Looks like the correct item number for the dial bulbs is actually "79629-S3V-A01" rather than "79629-SV3-A01" as mentioned in the description?

  10. Perfect ! I have a 09 SC with the shift bulb out. I watched this video in hopes that you would reveal a way to do the shifter. Boom ! You rock Eric. Thank you
Now if I could just find a original rear hatch wing. The cool one.

  11. Excellent! My Element has a half dozen dead bulbs now also it's time to replace them all. Also, the factory stereo has intermittent operation, mostly just the aux/mp3 connection works, I'm thinking a cable is loose.

  12. Good information!my friend have a 2003 Honda Element. There is no leaks but the is loosing oil. Do you think is a head gasket. I forgot to mention. The coolant is always low .

  14. I'm not sure how cheap those honda bulbs are, but when I tried to buy bulbs from Hyundai they wanted around $10 per bulb. I found you can actually buy just the bulb for < 50c (I believe I got mine at bulbtown) and put it on the old socket pretty easily.

I just bought them in bulk and did every single bulb in both my Hyundai and Subaru to get it over with.

  15. My mother's 2005 honda crv always aggravates me with the blower motor off and ac not in use air always comes through the vents its frustrating if people want air they wouldn't have the system off have you seen this problem on crvs as well as other Hondas Eric @EricTheCarGuy

  16. We’ve done this to my little brothers 2007 Acura TL. We did it with LED versions instead of the original incandescent bulb versions.
