  1. I don't answer my phone. I screen all calls and emails now. The only time I use my phone is with two-factor authentication with my company and legitimate businesses. Nope!

  2. Now scammers are using someone's phone number to appear local number. How do they do that? For example, a scammer call using your phone number, but you don't know that then someone call you back telling you that they have a missing call from your number but you never call

  3. First clue to the scam is the broken English and random punctuation. You already know the person isnt a native speaker of english. Missing articles, wrong verb tenses

  4. I posted an ad to sell an xbox. Got that kind of reply. Thing is, i said ''in person exchange only'' and it was in french. They still replied in english, asking me for my phone number so they can send me a code. On the site here they hide it all and none of your info is visible. When they answer by e-mail, it's not sent to you directly, it goes to the site and they foward it to you. So I just replied ''in person exchange only, no need for codes''. They just replied the same thing asking for my phone number. So I reported them and never heard of them again. Xbox sold.

  5. NOW THEY HAVE A NEW SCAM. THEY MAILED ME A LETTER PRETENDING TO BE FROM MY BANK. IT WAS A SCAM, I REPORTED THEM TO THE FCC. REPORT SCAMMERS IMMEDIATELY.

  6. Informative video. My WhatsApp number was hacked and still trying to reclaim it. More details were sent to your email. I am wondering if this method will work.

  7. It does make sense that I wouldn't have heard of this scam as Google Voice is only available in the US, however this video did remind me of similar scams that use similar tactics, but the scammers would usually trick victims into handing them codes that allow them to reset account passwords on services that allow a user to log in with their phone number and purchase products and/or services billed to a connected debit card or their phone bill.

  8. The bad thing is if somebody fell for this scam and claimed their number back, the scammer would still have a working US phone number on Google Voice which can still be used and do damage to other people.

  9. Maybe you could've used 123456 as the six digit code to troll the scammer, I would've loved to see the scammer's reaction on that 😂

  10. Thank you for this and your other videos about scammers. I suspected that I may have fallen victim by calling a number I found online that was allegedly connected to eBay customer service and naively followed the directions to download AnyDesk Remote Desktop from the Apple App Store. I then read the 6 digit code over the phone. But when I stopped short of the next step that would supposedly connect me to eBay’s Secure Server, the “ Customer Service” Rep kept urging me to do so. When I said again that I didn’t want to proceed, he said that he would transfer my call to his Manager, which I declined and hung up. I also subsequently deleted the app from my device.
After viewing your video, out of precaution I followed your steps to set up a Google Voice Account. Everything went smoothly as you described EXCEPT when I added my personal cell number as a new link to the account, it accepted it without giving me a warning that the number is being used by another account! It simply sent the 6 digit code to my mobile phone, which I used it to finalize the transaction.

I’m hoping that the fact that I didn’t receive the warning that you described indicates that my number hadn’t been hijacked. Or does it indicate something else? I would very much appreciate your interpretation of what it means.
Thanks again for all you do to help us to understand and avoid the tactics of scumbagging scammers!

  11. Can scammers do anything with just your phone number and name? One called me and I pissed him off calling him chutiya over and over🤣 as long as I don’t provide a code or anything they literally just have my #
