It’s been two years since the Nokia 9 PureView was released. We still haven’t seen a successor from HMD. Is that about to change? Or has Nokia simply given up on flagships?

  1. I believe HMD are not capable of making a flagship device, I've had terrible experiences with HMD handsets latest being 3.4 very bad set.

  2. Nokia should step into the rugged phone market. If I were Nokia, I will talk to Casio and create the most powerful and indestructible that can be used in any apocalypse or any dystopian future.
    The Nokia G-Shock phone.
    Waterproof (20 bars)
    Shock proof
    Dustproof
    Fireproof
    Radiation proof
    Bullet proof.
    Grenade proof.

  3. I'm at the point now where faster chips and better shooters just don't impress me. As long as it works thats the main thing, As for features things like Dex or Audio Dacs on devices would sway a puchase.

  4. The era of the 'flagship phone' is over. No one has the money to spend on an £800+ phone now, and Covid and Brexit have changed peoples perceptions about spending huge amounts of money on a phone that will become out if date within a year or so.

Plus people have given up changing their phones so often and realise there are better/more important things to spend their money on.

The whole idea of ' high end phones' is now a very 10's concept that no longer applies in the 20's.

Nokia are obviously leading the trend for no longer making flagship phones. It's now time for Apple, Samsung, and others to follow. Otherwise they will end with lots of stock they can't shift ….because people are not buying their super expensive phones.

  5. HMD seems to have been affected heavily by the pandemic, sales expectations and evolution of the market, changing focus and aiming at making a ground on feature phones and low-to-mid range smartphones, competing with quality and reliable software rather than low prices and bloatware. That could very well work for them in the long run and I wish the best for the company.

I'm quite happy and satisfied with my Nokia 6.1, it may be time to upgrade to a newer device soon and I still keep an eye on Nokia hoping to see a worthy successor to the magic moment they had with the 7 Plus/6.1, just a pure good all-around upper-mid range device

  6. It's such a shame, when they reentered the market they were spot on with price/quality – I retired my Nokia 8 just this week.
I wanted to believe that HMD would come with a similar product to the original Nokia 8 (The Nokia 9 of 2017 – spec wise), but after more than a year without any updates on a device like this and money wasting James Bond advertisements (seriously Nokia, how much did you waste on this bull crap marketing) I gave up.
I switched to the dark side, and am currently happy with my Samsung S20 FE 5G (price/quality wise a great phone).

  7. i've given up on nokia. i was using a 7.2 and waited for a 7.3 but nothing…so i just went with a a samsung a51 5g instead.

  8. HMD Global is the worst thing could have happened to Nokia since Microsoft. They can't handle phone making, they can't handle proper specs, they can't handle marketing, they can't handle distribution. Why are we still paying attention to them? O swear to you, when they lose it all they try to change, but sadly it's already too late. 🙂

  9. I have this device and this is the worst mobile phone I have ever bought. Initially it worked well but as it started to get older I started to face multiple issues in camera, software, screen. Lates issue which I am facing is screen turns yellow automatically and device restart randomly.
