This video shows you how to replace the thermostat and gasket on a Honda J Series V6 engine. The J Series V6 has been in Hondas since 1999. If you have a Honda with a V6, it probably has a J series in it. You may not be having a problem with your thermostat, but it is a mechanical device, so you might consider replacing it at the 200K mark like I did with this vehicle. I strongly recommend a Honda part.

Remember the time when the thermostat was on top and in front of the engine and no one would ever talk about it as job because it was so simple.

Any time I do a water pump/ timing belt I replace the thermostat at the same time. People judge me for it, but I'll spend the $20 every single time.
J35's are awesome. I have one in my 2007 Saturn Vue Redline with the Hondamatic & Aisin driveline. It's an absolute beast in winter! Do the TSB reflash for the torque converter lock up clutch, and a transmission flush and it will last forever.
Why so complicated Honda! It's a thermostat!
