Sorry this video is so long, but I wanted to cover in detail how to wire up a custom instrument cluster.

In the previous installment I showed how to make the cluster, this video shows how I wired everything up and made it all work. Even though much of this work is specific to #ETCGDadsTruck, the techniques shown can be applied to any instrument cluster you might be building and installing.

Here’s a link to the first part of this video where I showed how to make the cluster: https://youtu.be/i5Zy04iBvzI

  1. I'm going to be putting a glow 3 pod on my pillar and a speedometer plus fuel Guage. Where can I download the wiring schematic for a 1991 chevy s10?

  2. This may be a dumb question so forgive me… where can I find diagrams like that for projects? I've got a 92 K1500 that would love something like this.

  3. Eric great work. Can you tell me where you got the manual with the wiring diagrams you were working from? Im getting ready to fo the some thing and have been looking for a diagram like that.

  4. Hello. I have a 2008 Cheetah Safari Motor coach on a Roadmaster. My Gauges are blinking and spinning around like a pinball machine. Is this something you can help with?

  5. Eric where did you get the wire diagram for this OBS truck, I like how every thing is on one page/holdout
I'm in the process of doing the same thing on a like truck just newer…1994 OBS

  6. Could you explain how you got the hvac system to work after deleting the computer? I'm currently doing this same type of project but I'm not sure about how to rewire the system.

  7. Really some very good common sense approach to getting it done right. Thoroughly enjoyed your video and learned quite a bit what to look out for and be careful of. Absolutely excellent job and it was intense watching you retro fitting the wiring. I’ve been there on a Jeep with no gauges at all that shops turned down the job saying it was to complex. I got her done though and it all came together nicely. I watched this cause I’m about to do my 1989 Chevy Silverado with a new display/instrument cluster. Thank you for a great video. I have a good idea what I’m getting into now.

  8. After watchin this Im positive I don't want to try this on my truck, and the way you had to shove all that wiring and connections back into that space behind the panel looks like shit IMHO, just saying.

  9. 24:55 That little piece sticking up is to prevent the potentiometer from rotating in the hole. Normally you drill a small hole that it sits in. Normally it will work with the tab cut off, but they tend to work themselves a little loose over time and can rotate when you turn knob to max end limits.
