Moto Z4 review: This time with 5G

The Moto Z4 is virtually indistinguishable in many ways from its predecessors, but it serves as one of the most affordable platforms for Verizon’s budding 5G network.

  1. My Moto Z Force from 2016 was giving me sim card hiccups. And I panicked and bought a z4. First day at work while working on fan blades of an Airbus, the phone slid out my pocket and fell 2.5 feet to land on concrete and smashed up the screen . I literally just bought this phone. Moto bring back the shatterproof plastic screen or replace screens for free.

  2. Really don't understand the less then stellarator review. The innovation and the most functionality of any device out there ever really deserve more and support

  3. It is difficult to swipe to answer calls and very hard to swipe to cancel incoming calls. And my paired Bluetooth Truck does not read my text to me while driving like my old Moto phone did. Please help.

  4. The Pixel battery is awful. This is why I'm looking at phones with better battery life. Also, those updates only matter if the phone lasts that long, which it probably won't. They just don't make them to last.

  5. I think this is it for the mods. This is probably the last phone from Lenovorola that still supports mods. I expect they gonna change course and redesign the phone next year. If not, – beside their tiny fanbase — nobody will care. It's already a tough sell with $500 can get you a lot of phones these days, including last years' flagships. I also think Verizon must have purchased a few thousand of these, knowing that people on budget will get it for $10 a month and pay $250 for the device. They must have paid around $50 per device, otherwise they would have to write it off as a business loss. If you really want this unlocked, wait 2 months, it'll be probably selling for $300 something. On the other hand, there are a lot better phones out right now for $500.

  6. The print scanner works well once you use it for a day or two. Does take a moment or so to read, but doesn't really bother me much. I like that it's inside the screen. Also seems like it's more secure, like it's actually scanning my thumb. Overall, for what I paid, being on Verizon for years, just switching from the original Z Force, I'm happy.

  7. Moto Z4 specs that are > than the Pixel 3a XL:
    Better Processor
Bigger display + smaller foot print
    No Bezels
    Stereo Speakers
    More storage
    Expandable storage
    In screen fingerprint scanner
    Moto mods

  9. Once again another whinny little inked MIllenial crying because it's basically not the latest, greatest 1000.00 phone. How I miss the days when AC was Phil, Jerry and Alex and a VIDEO podcast. I guess the midrange Nexus wouldn't even stand a chance with these guys today.

  10. I don't think this review is the actual reflection of the phone. I'm using this phone coming off Note 9. The feel of this phone is far lighter and greater. The cameras is actually better especially in the low light. The phone is smooth and I've not felt any slowness. I just need to root it and so I can block ad and remove Alexa and Amazon apps

  11. Have a question directly for Android Central…Near the end you said that for most people, their money would be better spent elsewhere. What other phones would you recommend for this price range and why?

  12. The 3 seems better.. ive never had problems.. unbreakable screen.. which Thank God.. i drop it all the time. And 2 cameras on the back. Im happy with what i have

  13. Sorry but the z3 just seems like a better deal between it's faster SOc, flat Moto mod back, capacitive fingerprint sensor. But phones like the OnePlus 5t and 6 are also playing at this price now. I've had my Moto g7 for a while now and it's gotten considerably slower and way more buggy since I first got it. I haven't got a security patch since Jan 1st and I've even contacted Moto and they responded…..but nothing else happened. As a long term Moto user that's now on his second Motorola for some reason, I would recommend NOT BUYING A MOTOROLA AT ALL.

  14. Cool review man yeah they need to first complete VoLTE Pro Advance. Before they start claiming 5G Network marketing. Other than that it's a nice place to start as Motorola owner. 📱
