#FairmontProject Final Assembly (Part 2)

From here on in, the #FairmontProject videos will be, for the most part, episodic. Meaning, I’m going to chronicle the build as it happened rather than post videos about installing certain parts.

In this episode I wrap up the work on the K member with a little custom fitting and some borrowed parts from the Mustang. I also start work on the cold side piping of the turbo.

Fun fact: I believe this is the last video Cameraman Brian worked with me on the build. He had other work and some travel that kept him busy.

What Happened to Cameraman Brian?: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2iw9sxtHyw4

Be sure to tune in at the end for some bloopers.

😂😂😂 you're a funny fucker Eric, never a dull moment while watching your videos. You're definitely one of my favourite YouTuber's for sure.

  2. Hey Eric, have a quick question perhaps you could shed a little light for me, have a 99 Ford expedition that doesn't want to go over 25mph, what can I do to best diagnose what the problem could be?, Would appreciate any feedback you could throw my way, thank you

  3. Hey Eric can you make a video on cleaning the egr valve and pipes for the Acura Legend? There's a lot of talk about it on the forums but no videos and I think you'd be the man to do it! Thanks

  4. eric, any tips on how to bleed a hydraulic clutch? 1995 f150 ;I installed all new parts, tried the mytyvac to bleed, tried pumping and opening the bleed screw and still not building a pedal feel. I don't think you have a video of this yet. any help would be great.

  5. I was wondering if you can help mre out with some questions. My speedometer and rmp gauge goes out of wack, then the radio turn of and the light go dim, then when i turn off the car it doesnt want to turn back on but i just bought a battery a couple months ago. What do you think it could? Need your help

  6. it would be slightly easier if you made those spacers a slide in, that way you can have the k member loosely bolted and those spacers would just slip right in

  7. Hey ERIC! I can use your help.
I am at a very serious loss!
    I have a 2002 Mazda Protege LX. 2.0L 4 valves.
I am having trouble after the car starts to keep it running.
    I trippled checked timing.
Changed fuel regular and fuel pump and filter.
Spark plugs got carbon on it. Changed the spark plug wires and valve cover.
Cleaned, replaced gaskets, and made sure the air system is 100.
I had the altenator tested three months ago. That was ok. New battery as of yesterday. 12v for battery with 50% charge for the old one. It was bad.
I do not know what to do. Can you help me please?
Also smoke and a loud wine was coming from altenator before I redone tensioning.

  8. If it makes you feel better, Ford considers the center of the K-member a valid jack point, even on a fully-assembled car.

  9. Was about to comment that was from Blazing Saddles when you said it! Now if you're really cool Eric, you'll know the one, and only line that Mel Brooks cut from the entire movie.

  10. hey Eric, my 4runner 2004 2wd steering vibrate only sometimes at low speed so much like we feel the car gets into two parts in the middle of the road. Even though the mechanic observed the car he says the problem is with the 2 joints of the scissors under the wheel drums.. can u help me bro??

  11. Hi Eric. I own a 2006 Acura RL. It's supposed to be an all-wheel drive Vehicle, so it's surprising that even with winter tires the entire car keeps swerving in the snow. Its fine with dry roads and heavy rains, but snow is absolute terror for me in this vehicle! I have had all the stabilizer links replaced, an alignment done, also the inner tierod replaced. Nothing doing. I've seen three Mechanics about this, no one can help. Any suggestions?

  12. Love it eric and its getting better and better. THanks for the video. YEs your new tagline should be "tools are for sissies real man doesn't need tools". Priceless

  13. If you ever came across another Fairmont in decent condition would you ever think about buying and restoring it and keeping it stock along your current Fairmont? Figured it would be interesting!

  14. Eric your Fairmont is a one of a kind buddy that is a neet car you should come to pa some time there are a lot of car shows in the summer time.
