Moto Z3: The First 5G Phone (Sort Of)

The Moto Z3 isn’t a remarkable phone on its own — it’s sort of a hybrid between last year’s Moto Z2 Force and this year’s Moto Z3 Play — but it’s interesting because of what it supports: 5G.

More specifically, it supports a 5G Moto Mod that will be available exclusively from Verizon early next year, allowing for blistering speeds of 5Gbps.

So should you buy the Moto Z3 just so you can use 5G in a few cities a few months from now? Probably not, but if you’re looking for a decent budget phone with last year’s specs, there’s plenty to like in then Moto Z3. #5G #Android #Motorola

  1. Hey everyone, I know this isn't a very exciting phone, but I'm curious — what do you think of 5G? Is it a big deal for phones or just another number?

Excited to hear what you think!

    -Daniel

  2. The device should have come with a larger battery would have been nice the 835 processor is plenty good enough for me the price for the phone is pretty good for what you get so I will have a good look at the time for a upgrade!

  3. I think companies should think of a way of getting 5G everywhere with help from government I think it's time to ditch the old fashioned communication system and replace it with a internet one so most calls will be over the internet rather than a old fashioned phone mask and it can be cheaper I know Wi-Fi calling exist

  4. They should not be allowed to turn on 5G until they've got the mask all over the country otherwise they just ripping people off paying for something they're not getting and in some countries that can be considered illegal or immoral here in the UK broadband providers are changing their speeds claims to support reality a bit more

  5. Who here still on 3G and has no problem with it I can easily load HD video people are addicted to wanting the best but what we got isn't exactly that's low when it comes to phones I'm not forgetting most things only loading as fast as the browser can load it

  6. 5 Gigabits per second? YEAH i understand tech needs to move forward but it's doing so in a STUPID way. There's absolutely no need for that kinda speed on a smartphone right now, especially when storage etc are so limited. (PROVIDING THAT CARRIERS EVEN PROVIDE THEIR NETWORK AT THAT MAXIMUM THEORETICAL SPEED) They're not even reaching what LTE can support. It takes an absolute IDIOT to buy that 5G Mod

  7. Moto just broke the mold again with a flagship phone for a mid-range price…6" amoled screen and compatible with all the Mods. As a package the Z line has the best speakers (JBL soundboost), biggest screen (70 inches from the projector), biggest/longest battery ( battery Mod), wireless charging (ditto), instant hard copy photos (Polaroid Mod), not to mention unlimited design with the style shells ( colors, fabrics, leather and woods). WOW…its the most versatile phone being made right now and hats off to Moto for the innovation and risk taking.

  8. hopefully the next gen of phones will be compatible without an attachment, but nice for those who eventually would be able to use their old Moto phones with the Moto Mod

  9. He wears an ifruit watch. He's a spy.. So this is how apple invent stuff..
They send the moles out and 3 yrs later BAMM.. wireless.. I mean air oled samsung magic retina display :))

  10. If it costed $350 without the mod it would be the best deal of the year for a middle range phone. But for the price almost the same of a OnePlus 6 ….. poor Motorola.

  11. LOL Extra fast 5G speeds when Verizon is leading the charge in LIMITED "Unlimited" plans. This is simply halarious!
