I used my google pixel for around 2 years and there is a faint image of tictok
No burn in, everything is just fine and pretty well up to date a few years later.
Ironic tho…second hand pixel devices on eBay are not shadow burned as frequently as Samsung Galaxy phones. Seems like every other used galaxy has burn in, lines and or dead pixels. Maybe Google fixed it as they fixed blue tint…don't know. All I know is that I buy a lot of second hand devices and see more burn issues w Samsung products.
Will Android, or Google fix this problem or in my case Verizon with being covered under a warranty?

Y'all think you have it bad… My Google Pixel crashed/bricked itself overnight, and was stuck on the white screen showing the Google logo at maximum brightness overnight… I don't mind the crash, but now, there's a giant G logo burned in really badly right smack in the middle of my Pixel. And they won't honour their warranty either, as they deemed it "user error". Wtf Google

It's LGs own screen. All LG screens come with screen retention. We should sue LG for that.

My note 8 I got in December 2017 and by end of February I already got burn in. Absurd!! That's just ridiculous.

Google is investigating??? — hahahahahaha – Joka – Google already knew about this issue before they started selling the phones but are happy that a few of you will complain and nothing will happen to them. Few years later you WILL still buy the Pixel 3 when it comes out – hahahahaha. More money to google year after year.
Yes I would go with the company getting sued for slowing down the older devices….claiming to save the customers battery of course, not to cause the customer to go get a new phone. lol

Absolute disaster for Google. Many potential buyers will now avoid this phone.

I saw BAD burn in on a test unit at the Verizon store. Should've taken a picture, it clearly showed 'Verizon' in the middle of the display on a white background…

So, this is a problem why, exactly? From what I understand, I will only see it on a solid gray image. I doubt it will be noticeable with everyday use. Mountain out of a mole hill.
The proper term is "image retention" not persistence for Display panel image that remains temporarily a constant screen saver or changing backround should help
That's not surprising. LG's screen quality isn't top notch.
I did notice with a comparison to my old Nexus 6p that the Pixel 2 XL display is muted. Blue tint isn't really bothering me. No issues with "burn-in"
Did you try running a longer video? Maybe it will totally fade away after a couple of hours?

I have read in a tech article that the only true way to clear image retention is turning the phone on and off. Not sure about it though.
That is why mobile phones shouldn't have on screen buttons..!!

I dont get why Google was sleeping on this! A constant Nav Bar is a bad choice for OLED. Samsung knows that very well. The always on Display is constantly moving. Even the Nav Bar make minimal changes in Position (about 2 Pixels) to avoid Burn-ins. Looks like Googles Design doesnt think about that.
