Hey guys, I just got a google pixel ( regular, not XL) and uploaded videos on my channel but they are only 1080p. The settings are set to 4k…Any ideas why this might be happening?
Whoever in Google made the video stabilization feature this good on both the Google Pixel and Pixel XL's camera should get a raise.
I think we're discovering that Electronic Image Stablisation really is the way to go for smartphones given the limited space within them. Just look take a look at the Xperia XZ.

Very bad when you pan, but still a great stabilization. Almost like with a 3-axis gimbal.
Great if you never pan left or right – that "robotic" feel when it is between stabilization locks is quite annoying.

Looks good, but am I the only one that feels like I'm getting dizzy/nauseous while viewing it?
What I can tell from your video is that the EIS of this phone is phenomenal. I have used the iPhones, Sony Z5, X and they all have excellent image stabilization but the system on this Google phone is a clear step above. However, the shimmering or pulsating of the subjects with finer details in the image plus the abrupt and fickle changes in the exposure seem to ruin the otherwise great footage. Not sure if Google could correct these problems.
Definitely looks like an FPS.
Is the guy at the end some kind of ghost or just a walking after image
