LG V10 hands-on!

This is the new LG V10. It’s the first phone in what should be LG’s new V series, complimenting the G series. It’s bigger, it’s beefier, and it’s sporting one more camera and one more screen than we’re used to. Let’s take a look. It’s got plenty of new features, and a secondary display screen that isn’t terrible. It’s a 5.7 Quad HD display, with a secondary screen at the very top of your display. That second screen gives you quick access to apps and features, along with notifications even when the phone is sleeping. It’s easy to use with intuitive settings. There are two front facing cameras with 5MP that give you access to some different angles, and wider selfies. This is LG’s first metal smartphone, in 316L stainless steel. The metal is combined with a silicon based duraskin for the back of the phone. This means you’ve got a pretty sturdy frame with impact resistant rubber that will help if you happen to drop the V10. With a larger phone like this, the duraskin also helps you to help a solid grip on it. LG still has the volume and power buttons on the back of the phone, but they’ve added a fingerprint scanner to the power button in this iteration. It works really well, allowing you to wake and unlock the phone at the same time. The V10 is launching with Android 5.1.1 Lollipop but LG is hoping to get an Android 6.0 Marshmellow update out by the end of the year. There are also some new features when it comes to your camera in the form of manual control over video, video highlights feature, and a really easy way to share what you’ve just shot. There is a 3,000 mAh battery, 64 GB of onboard storage, accepts Micro SD, 3GB of RAM and a Snapdragon 808 processor. This is in many ways, a newer, bigger, and better version of the LG smartphone.

  1. I have the V10 and it's a very nice phone. Only problem is the battery life is not that great. If you don't use the phone much (standby/idle) it will last day and a half. But as soon as you start using it it drains alot. Once I used the camera for testing (few videos and pictures) probably 30 mins of usage. The battery drained from 77% to 53% just like nothing. Not happy about the battery department. Other than that it's a great phone.

  2. I only wish the black version did not have that divisions in the back, that's why I dont like the black version but is the only version available on T-Mobile.

  3. i was exited about this phone… like i was about note 5.
but both not coming to europe, so huawei took my money with nexus 6p.

  4. Very nice phone, I like the specs, especially the hifi sound, and I like the unique approach LG took with the cover.

Can't decide if I like this or the BB Priv more.

  5. There's a tri-mic array, 32-bit audio DAC and headphone amp if you're into that kind of stuff.

Also, there's 64GB of storage base, and that's the only flavor.

Pretty dang impressive, if I should say so myself. Hope LG's implementation of that secondary display works out for them, unlike that Samsung Continuum abomination.
