Repairing my Salvage Ferrari’s F1 Transmission Using Alfa Romeo Parts WAY CHEAPER Than the Dealer!

History Channel’s Car Week Kicks Off with Evel Live 2! Sunday July 7th 8PM EST/5PST: http://bit.ly/SamcracHistory

The faulty pump to repair my Salvage Ferrari’s F1 Transmission is $1,000 at the dealer. On eBay they cost around $700, but it turns out the F1 Transmission is similar to one found in early 2000’s Alfa Romeo and Fiats; so lets shop those parts instead…

  1. Late on the game just to say that Magneti Marelli was the electromechanical/automotive components division of what's known as FCA and once Fiat (it got sold to another firm), so everything revolving Ferrari, Fiat, Alfa, Holland, has Magneti Marelli components inside, so yeah you can buy like-wise components as long as their performance in within specs, no idea what's the deal with pumps though, so it may be just overprincing or better specs and quality (or both really)

  2. Sam your a sellout trying to push bullshit products like alarm systems and wallets and other crap that has nothing to do with your car videos. You had great enthusiasm a reason I decided to buy car part cars to rebuilt and sell. It’s the reason I was inspired to be like you but these stupid products to make money has now made me stop watching. Shame on you for selling out.

  3. This is great. Thank you so much for helping us all out and making the dream of owning a Ferrari plausible for average Joe's like myself. I have a dream that I will make a reality in the next 7 to 10 years of getting a slightly used, / fixable F12 or 812 . Even one slightly damaged. and being that the biggest stigma is the cost of every part. Even simple ones that wear out over time. This gives me hope that I won't have to spend thousands getting it done right. Awesome channel and content. Please keep the supercar content coming as much as possible. We all enjoy it!!!

  4. MORAL OF THE STORY: if you want to drive an F360 and avoid the exorbitantly expensive labor required to maintain it you need to have a ton of spare space and time, extra backup vehicles, a youtube channel, be a very knowledgeable and competent engine mechanic, be comfortable with tools and repair techniques and be doing your own work on your own time.

  5. FYI the trouble is coming 95% of time from the brushes. It cost 10$ and you can do it yourself. I saved 3 alfa 147 Selespeed like this 🙂

  6. Call Italy Ferrari company. Please. When i need help i call CEO of companies. In cars Toyota and Honda CEO. They helped me and solved my problem in 24 hours. Same with cable companies. Called president Clinton when i needed his help and he helped.
Few years ago wented to go to Pakistan could not afford first class ticket as i have health issues Qatar CEO treated me like royalty.

  8. Shit where are the American Graffiti Rods and flat head hot rods. Well My V8 Triumph Stag from 1973 is primo. Want to to see , drive and buy it? 30k original miles an 10 grand in new old parts.

  9. When I lived in Germany I had a Citroen CX 20, I had a hard time getting a certain distributor part, and low and behold an old mechanic taught me to look at similar cars and bam Renault had the part for a 1/4 of the cost

  10. Then you get some Ding dongs that say because it doesn't same Ferrari on it or enzo or whatever the f** it's not worth it it's not real.
    I call that BS.
You're growing on me kid, didn't like you at first but now, humm.

  11. Way back when in the 60s Piper Aircraft used a sprocket and chain arrangement of some of their landing gear system. The motor that was used cost $450 to $600 from piper.. the same motor (power seat motor)cost <$50 from the Lincoln car dealership.

  12. It seems to me, that Ferraris are not what they're cracked up to be… rip off parts prices and rip off Dealer workshop prices. I'm glad that I own an Audi.

  13. Ferrari is a small company, most of component Ferrari's are made are shared over lots of carlines and platforms, I remember back in the day the 308's, 348's even the bigger 512 BB Berlinetta boxer (1983) shared parts with Fiat, the 512 bb had the same steering rack of a Fiat 124… lot of Alfa Romeo parts on Ferraris, sometimes , even interior trims like the air vents

  14. Was really starting to like you..until I caught a glimpse of the horrid blue and orange. Seemed like such a sharp fella. Makes me wonder where it all went wrong .

  15. I give up after watching 4 videos on the Ferrari I don’t know what video is what and I’m giving up. I hope you got it going. Again please number your videos like episode 1 and 2 would be helpful

  17. Ferraris are like high dollar call girls. They're nice to look at, most of the time anyway, but they cost way too much and when the wife finds out if you are like a lot of us you are in a bit of trouble.
