I really wanted this. This is phone that I need. expandable memory, good camera, and the best resolution of all smartphone. even Samsung note 5 doesn't have that.
let's just take a moment to realize that Sony made a thin phone with a 4K display and freaking huge battery. oh and it's water resistant and has a fingerprint scanner. And looking at Sony's previous sensors, it probably has a boss camera also. On top of all that it has front facing speakers. The note 5 is a joke compared to this.

4k is unimpressive and not much improvement over 1080p.
when will battery technology keep up with displays?!
Seems great to me, but then I'm not afraid to put on a $2.50 pair of reading glasses, the processor in my Nexus 9, is over 4 times the capability needed to run 4K UHD, it's not the number of CPUs that govern the pixel capacity, its the number of GPUs, and the Qualcomm 810 would have plenty of AMD GPUs. We have way more graphics power than UHD needs, for the gaming, which is much more difficult than just decompressing a 4K video, Sony has lots of 4K movies, maybe this will spur them, to allow us to buy them. The stuff I've seen on my $400 UHD TV looks great, too much stuffing around, but if I could connect this to the TV, after downloading from WiFi, a lot simpler.
I would want lots of internal flash memory, external memory isn't allowed to store Google play movies and TV for example, 128 GB would be good; the more the merrier with RAM, especially if it's LPDDR4, sure screens have advanced, but not faster than graphics processors. Or RAM, flash, don't you guys remember, FHD, nothing could possibly handle that, now we totally take it for granted, as to gaming it'll probably be limited to FHD, but will upscale nicely, please remember, an 8 MP camera can record in UHD, they've been doing so, since Note 3, 2 phones ago.
Difference between 2k and 4k at this screen size is moot, battery will catch on fire, 810 will melt and that display will be wrecked from heat soak in minutes that battery will last. Pathetic and unnecessary
I wonder if you can even tell the difference from a Quad HD display.

Everyone is bashing this, but I think it will look amazing in Cardboard. Plus, if the battery gets more than 1day use, whats the difference? And, it outputs MHL to your 4k monitor or TV. Pretty cool if you ask me. I remember when NO ONE wanted 1080p screens. Why would anyone use that many pixels!

This is just over kill I bet that battery will drain in a few hours. A normal person would not be able to tell the difference between the 4k screen and a normal screen like on the note 5.
