  1. Make it waterproof! My G4 is a business tool and a play thing both of which see me outside in all weather and in wet surroundings. Having come from a Sony Z1 I really miss this feature.
Front facing speakers… what is with a great screen for watching videos and films but then a rear facing speaker… be real smart like the HTC One!
Keep working with Otterbox to ensure they make tough case's for your phones, not everyone sits behind a desk all day or sits in knitting in the evening – help us lead tough n tumble lives with smartphones in pocket!
On that note, seriously armoured screen.
Larger battery but more importantly, keep it removable… I left Sony for this very reason.
Better selection of ring tones as standard but that's just nit picking!
Otherwise, it's a great phone that just needs a few mods/fine tuning to make it an awesome go anywhere phone.

  2. My smartphone history: Motorola Droid Max -> Samsung Note 3 -> LG G4 -> Nexus 6P. It's been a long journey but I'm a Nexus guy now. No middle-man, no limits, no going back to anything but pure Android. Period.

While the G4 looked nice, it was far too prone to overheat while boost boost boosting signal looking desperately for a 4G signal. If you couldn't give it one, your battery would be toast in under an hour. Good riddance.

  3. The renders I've seen, which may or may not be official, indicate more metal in the overall construction, a slightly smaller screen than the G4, a fingerprint sensor on the back which may or may not double as a power button, the return of the volume buttons to the side, and a micro SD/removable battery compartment which slides out from the bottom. I don't recall where the speaker(s) placement was. Besides wondering how cases would be made if there is a bottom sliding compartment, the design seems like it would be ok. Gorilla Glass 4 or its equivalent are a must. I'd also like to see front facing stereo speakers and relatively easy repairability, along with a reasonable price.

  4. Hi Phil and guys,
I'm still rocking the G3 because the G4 was not much of an improvement. For me to buy the G5 I would like to see this :
    – 5.7" amoled screen in 2K
    – No curved screen
    – Same battery size because with Marshmallow doze 3000 should be fine.
    – thin bezels like the G3 !!! The Bezels in the G4 got bigger !!!
    – wireless charging + fast charging with usb type C
    – SD expansion slot – you need a 128Gb card to store 90Gb of files (prevents card failures)
    – no leather back (a water resistant phone would be 10 times more useful)
    – lighter skin software – i put nova launcher on it anyway
    – 4Gb of Ram
    – No headphone jack – Bluetooth is good enough
    – Volume buttons on back – I never accidentally change volume with this setup.
    – Replace power button on back with fingerprint sensor
    – Put LG on back of phone, not on front !! UGLY
    – Other must have features such as NFC, excellent range of bands, 32Gb internal storage…..

I will buy the G5 if it has all this

  5. Have a G4 so looking forward to G5

    In order of importance:
    1) Front facing speakers
    2) Lighter skin on shoftware + quicker updates.
    3) Fingerprint sensor

That's it, G4 was almost perfect

  6. If the v10 is ment to "create" I hope the G5 is geared towards enjoying. So I'm looking for:
    More updated design,
    Front Stereo speakers,
    subwoofer ( well a 3rd speaker),
    Increased camera specs

  8. a removable battery bigger than 3000mAh. Screen size 5.2 or 5.3 would work. Small dimensions. Buttons on the back.

    Basically i want a 2016 LG G2.

  9. I'm excited about the advent of the 820 snapdragon. This particular chip seems to have taken performance levels up quite a bit from what we've seen in the past. In short, I hope the boosted internals equates to a smoother, quicker, and more stable user experience in every fashion when using the phone on a daily. What I hope it doesn't have is a secondary display like the V10. That less than desired feature (in my eyes anyway) could honestly be a deal breaker.

  11. 2k HDR display

~5.5 inch curved display with no bezels

    Quick charge 4000 mah battery

    4gb of ram

    snapdragon 820

    1.6 f apature camera, 20 mp,
    optical image stabilisation improvements

8 MP wide angle front facing camera

Screen to body ratio at 80% +

    32bit DAC
    Hifi stereo

    Runs android 6.1.

  12. spec bump from the G4 along with a merger of the design language of the two phones. Keep the back buttons but fix the fingerprint sensor and add front facing speakers. Refine the software design but don't remove the features that make the phone unique. Not all of us want a stock Android clone.

  13. the LG G4 was a beautiful phone in my eyes especially the red leather back with the gold buttons or black leather back with gold buttons
I would be completely fine with it if they left it alone and just put metal for the sides of the phone Snapdragon 820 4gb ram
That's all it needs ..and to be able to change the icon pack lol
