  1. I don't understand. My favorite word was "no" when I was 20. No one could get me to do anything. I don't understand getting sick from alcohol, yet continuing to drink. And I don't understand wanting someone to drink that much to join my group. It sounds like a cult.

  2. Black people tell white people not to be racist, but they discriminate against Asians.
    Shame on you!
Already, nine out of ten Asians living abroad say that black people discriminate the most.
Black people, you'll live in discrimination for the rest of your life.
If you don't break the habit, Asians will now discriminate against blacks.

  3. When are people going to realize that these fraternities and sororities are quintessential cults. BE FREE THINKERS… do not follow "ritualistic" beliefs and values that are immoral. I would never promote this for my child… at a very young age.
Truly, I hope the family overcomes this horrific tragedy. DAMN.

  4. Terrible waste of a life. I can’t get it into my head why these initiation things take place or more so why people agree to them. I must be different in that way because I would never agree to take part in anything like that. I would treat with contempt anyone that tried to make me feel that I needed to take part in some type of initiation.

  5. While the lost of this man sucks, it's the tradition of these hazing rituals that perpetuates. You have to completely dismantle them. If he had survived it, there wouldn't be any telling if he'd end up being the hazer with next year's recruits.

  8. Where is the frat house parents? They used to have an older alumnus live in house to prevent foolish activity…didn’t they?

    Ban alcohol from frat houses!

  9. She should've told him to go to the police and report what they were wanting him to do. She could've made a call to the police to get the event stopped before they stared the event…. They parents or relatives can always donate organs.. Some people are actually targeted for Irfan donors so they shouldn't sign up. Relatives should just know their wishes should they die would be better.. then hackers don't know if they will donate or not..
Events like these shouldn't ever happen again ever. They need people eyes watching these frat places 24/7 to see what they do every year because never know what kids this age will do in a club…..it only takes one bad person to ruin everything by telling the others what to do wing so they need to stop that specific person.. Want to hack a phone get some pros to hack all their phones while sitting at the police station…. Instant help. Who needs a job?

  10. What is wrong with all these colleges they should expel all these students that have an participation in hazing this has happened way too many times the college is responsible

  11. If the authorities know that this is happening why are they not putting a stop to this stupidity. Why do you have to succumb to humiliation to be part of a cult

  12. What a tragedy. My heart goes out to this family. Colleges need to abolish fraternities. They're as empty as the bottles stacked up the day after foolish, and often dangerous, parties.

  13. A college is a place for highly intelligent human beings to pursue education that can be served to the society. If this is college life I'm glad I don't have neither a son nor a daughter to worry about. This is what happened when what they have up in the head is being put right down their feet . How disgusting this so-called intelligent students can be??????

  14. I think this is another problem that doesn't seem necessary. Higher education demands a higher set of behaviors than sororities and fraternities actually encourage. If they don't encourage wise choices, they should. A precious human who was obviously set on goals that had nothing to do with "hazing", allowed himself to think that belonging to that Greek organization would be an added bonus to his life while obtaining a direction in a career path. How does "hazing", alcohol, or taking nights off to indulge yourself in pranks enhance your character or help you get your brain organized for success. The correct answer is it does not!

In Ivy league colleges and universities, membership was a sort of mentorship. It had stopped being that many decades ago. Losing your child to this type of ridiculousness needs to stop.

Higher education is costly enough on families who can actually afford it. It should never be this expensive ever!

Please young persons, having fun doing the work you actually find compelling enough to study for, should also provide you with the "recreational aspects" that you need….no one benefits from hazing or hazing related activities. That is a proven fact!

So sorry that beautiful young man was taken from all of us. I stand behind his parents 100%.

  15. And they’re worrying about legal weed?! He could smoke 40 bowls and he would have just slept it off! I think alcohol is a much bigger problem that needs to be dealt with! Especially in cases like this where the innocent are the ones that get hurt! These other kids involved need to be held accountable!!!!

  16. May that poor soul rest peacefully. I feel so sorry for his folks. Hazers get off on humiliation and control. I certainly wouldn't want to be part of an organization that contains these disgusting predators. My only purpose in college was getting a proper education.

  17. OVER AND OVER AND FRIKKIN OVER OVER AGAIN AND IN SPITE OF OUR ABSURD HISTORY {EITHER SHAMEFULLY FORGOTTEN OR NEGLECTFULLY NEVER TAUGHT YOU DECIDE} WITH HAZING BS ANOTHER FRATERNITY IS FACING ANOTHER SET OF ANGUISHING PARENTS AND STILL THERE AIN'T ANY FEDERAL LAW FOR "ABSOLUTE ZERO TOLERANCE" FOR ANY & ALL HAZING RITUALS ?
THE KIDS JUSTA KEEP ON DYING ? & the band played on ~ ~ ~

  18. This kind of thing is the ultimate example of bullying leading to murder!! Alcohol IS a poison!! Just like hate and ridicule! All of those involved should have to be investigated to determine what part they may have played in this! These are not children anymore. They are old enough to know better! Perhaps any of those involved in this heinous crime, should be made to speak on college campuses and warn against these practices, and educate the incoming crowds on how to prevent alcohol poisoning from toxicity. Also basic first aid, primarily ensuring that possible aspiration from vomiting and being too unconscious to roll over. Must turn them on their sides, at the very least. And, monitor them.

  19. Unfortunately, any "justice" they receive will do little or nothing to change the culture. This argument is the same as gun control. No matter how many are lost, no matter how horrific the incident, people generally don't care until it affects them.

I'm sad to see how something so preventable continues to happen. It's heartbreaking.

  20. I went through the same thing in Louisville ky. In the late 80s. Still doing this my bros.
