Joshua Vergara was in New York for the Samsung Unpacked event, where they announced the Galaxy S8 – you know he recorded a fun special episode with awesome guests to memorialize the trip. This week, John Velasco and Nirave Gondhia return to chat, joined by special guests Chris Velazco (@chrisvelazco), Cherlynn Low (@CherlynnLow) and Evan Rodgers (@evanrodgers) of Engadget. The topics were pretty straightforward, the Galaxy S8 was the main dish, with all other new things from Samsung on the side. Of course, they explored one other very important topic, what comes next?

    I have invented a Board Game [still unpublished and not yet out in the market] that I believe is guaranteed to be as challenging and exciting as CHESS. I called it “RUVOL.”

    It is my hope that one day Ruvol may surpass chess as the “Number One Board Game in the World.”

    The weakness of chess is it always starts in fixed positions that the opening moves become “memorizable.” In fact, not a few have so mastered the moves that they can play against their opponents “blindfolded.” It is for this very reason that the great Bobby Fischer introduced his so-called “Fischer Random Chess,” where the starting position of the pieces is “randomized” to make the memorization of openings impracticable. Fortunately, it is also for this reason that I invented Ruvol where “every game” has been calculated to be a challenging one to play.

    It is worthwhile to note that the people who play chess will be the same people who will play Ruvol. In my Google search, I learned there are around 800 million chess players in the world. Even just a small percentage of these 800 million is good enough to earn big money from Ruvol either as an ONLINE GAME BUSINESS or as a PHYSICAL PRODUCT DISTRIBUTOR.

  3. So when all the app get optimised for the s8 and s8+. If i am watching a video or playing a game on landscape fullscreen will i be able to hit the back button??? How will i just go back instead of hitting the home button??

  4. I'm very excited for Bixby and I really want it on my s7 edge. I love using voice but google assistent feels limited still. It can't do a lot of the things I want. Bixby is more practical and has some cool new features. So I don't know what the fuss is about. I'm only worried about privacy and I don't like how it's only integrated with the samsung ecosystem but I do understand why they do it.

I have the zte axon 7, for me it's the best sub 500$ phone, i have updated to 7.1.1 two months ago, for the price it has the best screen, speakers, battery life, ui experience very close to stock android and the dac performance with good headphones or earbuds is excellent. I'm waiting to see what the axon 8 will bring to the market.

  37. Will you guys be able to answer these questions:
    1. Will the Galaxy S8 and S8+ have Android 7.1.1. Nougat on launch day?
    2. I've noticed in a few videos of the Galaxy S8 that some of the app icons were from the Note7's GraceUX. I was wondering if there's an option to change the icons from the new ones to the old ones without applying a theme?
    3. Do you believe Samsung will improve itself in regards of timely OS and security updates?
    4. Will the Snapdragon/ Exynos processors be on the same level in terms of performance and efficiency? I read a lot about the Exynos variant of the Galaxy S7 outperforming the Snapdragon variant.

  40. Please clarify the questions to the DEX-docking station:
    -Can Dex replace Laptops, MacBook Air, Mini PC?
    -Can I connect the printer?
    -Can I connect a hard disk 3.5 mm or SSD drive?
    -Can I connect a webcam?
    -Can I connect usb-hub with several usb ports?
    -Can I connect wired speakers (via usb hub)?
    -Can I connect a keyboard (via usb hub)?
    -Can I connect a mouse (via usb hub)?
    -Can I make a Wi-Fi hot-point in the Samsung Galaxy S8 and spread the Internet through the LAN-cable which is in the DEX-docking station?
    – Does the docking station have a processor?
    -How to switch between the two languages ​​(as in the Windows alt + shift) when working?
    -Please check how photos are processed in Photoshop?
