That black box is called a Raspberry PI – a small little computer that everyone has been using for all sorts of cool projects like home media centre's etc. Those raspberries when it was booting up indicate how many cores the Pi has, in that case it's got 4 cores, and judging by the box it seems like a Raspberry Pi 3 Model B+. The desktop loaded for a second then the main application loaded which was the dash.
