It’s a simple process and doesn’t require a lot of tools. It can also save you a great deal of money replacing this maintenance item yourself. Not to mention it will help keep the air inside your vehicle free from contaminants.

The average replacement interval is every 15K, sometimes as low as 10K based on the air quality where the vehicle is being used.

  1. Dude that was super easy and straight forward to understand. I went and checked my Prius' air cabin filter just then and it was completely choked up with a cake of solid dust. I'll go buy another filter to replace it with. Handy video thanks mate 🙂

  2. New Toyota's have a Design Defect which allows Mold and Bacteria to grow in the HVAC System, Toyota is aware of the problem, but has refused to address the issue, changing the filter does not help, to report the problem call 800-331-4331.

  3. hey this is Eric the car guy and I'm gonna show you a great way to make your prius better. Now what you have to do is douse the car with petrol, get a zipo lighter and just go ahead and drop it in through the window. Boom! so much better. For more videos just go to Eric the car guy.com.

  4. Same procedure for the glove box as the 2005 Corolla I had. Only difference is it's filter wasn't in a tray. Just pop it in the hole and pop the cover back on.

  5. I have to say I watched all the cabin air filter videos just to see how dirty they are. I recently changed mine (2002 Subaru Impreza 2.5 RS) and it was a PITA requiring removal of many screws. I just don't get why Subaru made it that difficult.

  6. what a difference but did you see the lack of quality plastics considering the cost of a Prius you can see where they skimped on thickness of parts .

  7. i replaced my cabin air filter once. once i removed the filter, there was about 3 inches of Darbee on top of it that fell directly into my blower motor. luckily my car's blower moter required just three screws and it dropped right out so it wasn't a big deal.

  8. I'd have never known to deal with the Danner damper. Thanks. Plus, now I can recommend cabin air filters on those for my shop. Breath cleaner air customer. 🙂
