  1. Is looking at the oil cap really a good way to get an idea about the condition of the inside of an engine? I ask because it seems like it would not be too difficult for a seller to simply clean the underside of the oil cap.

  2. Hey Eric, I have a 1999 Honda Accord EX with a F23a4 engine. I'm getting a trouble code P1382. Even when switching out several distributor from friends vehicles still getting that code. Car starts and just shuts off. Need help.

  3. I was very surprised about Eric's rant in regards to cleaning throttle bodies. perhaps people are opening the butterfly flap with their finger or something?.. when I was a super noob I took the throttle bodies off of both my cars cleaned them and reinstalled no problem it went great.. 2005's Chevy cobalt and Mazda 3

  4. 1st question…. false activation of ABS, remove front speed sensors grind rust off hub and re-install…. over time rust builds up under the sensor lifting it up causing intermittent signal drop out just before coming to a complete stop.

  5. Hi Eric I have a question that I hope you can shine some light on… I have an inspection coming up and I have a p420 code upper bank coming up which came up when I got the car a year ago and at that time we replaced spark plugs, air filter, O2 sensor, we cleaned air mass flow sensor and only sprayed the throttle body without wiping it down and we can never get the car to stop chugging which we think can be another reason why the code is possible coming up…. Can you please help us? Also we were trying to check the throttle body positioning sensor but the bottom bolt became stripped which trying to remove we even went and purchased a right angle drill and we still can't get the bolt out? Any suggestions on that?

  6. well if you remove the oil pan then you can clean the engine with kerosine its fine I think oil sludge gone and check if all the dirty oil residue is gone and engine back together new synthetic oil & done

  7. For first caller's suspected ABS fault: disable the system by pulling fuse 33 (60A) then test drive in a safe place. If poor braking continues, fix brakes now. If normal braking is restored, ABS definitely has a failure that can be repaired later.

  8. Hi Eric I have a p0130 code that will not go away cleared multiple times I have a scan gauge II I have done an o2 sensor install on b1s1 but the code came back. My question is how can I trouble shoot the code. The symptoms are stalling rough idle hard cold start and it's worse when hot I'll be getting a vac gauge to measure mechanical balance my cheap fuel gauge showed it in spec but it flutters but it's cheap

  9. i had a Dakota that stopped fine but..every now and then the pedal would go to the floor. no leaks and pads were fairly new. turned out the master cylinder was going bad.

  10. Sound is good ! The warbly whooshy quality is NOT present. Good show !
Can't wait until vid quality improves but is not so important since this is only talking.

  11. I love the shirt I'm a fan of Night Rider. Also I don't think the sound problem had anything to with equipment or wind, I believe it is a problem with the Internet connection quality or Speed. Because it happens when it get slow.

  12. I own a 2003 Subaru wrx. It has a cold air intake but other than that its stock. When I'm in drive (it's an automatic) and I'm on the brakes at a full stop there's a consistent rattle. Sometimes it's there and other times it's not. What could this be?

  13. hey ericthecarguy I have a 04 civic and the hood wont close all the way I replaced the hood latch and release cable but still won't close. Any thoughts?

  14. Speaking of break in, Eric I race at a local short track. And I am in the process of rebuilding my engine. Not street legal. How should I should I get it broke in?

  15. Hello Eric.
    I have a 2001 Honda civic eu8 eudm with a d16v1 e-vtec engine.
I have a problem with my gearbox there is lots of play in the box where the drive shafts conect and the passanger side driveshaft comes out while driving. There is also a problem with the imput shaft bearing.
What can i do about this?
    Best regards

  16. Hi Eric! I love my subscription to your channel. Great videos. I have a 1990 Olds Ninety-Eight Regency Brougham. The engine is a 3800 (3.8 L with balance shaft). Once in a while when I stop the engine, like at a store and come back out to start it, it cranks, but does not catch. I try every 3 minutes or so and no luck, until about 10-20 minutes later. Then it starts right up like nothing was ever wrong. Any ideas on cause? PS 214,000 miles. 95% of the time it runs great.

  17. Hi Eric, Does an engine become less fuel efficient the higher the miles?
My Honda CB500 twin bike did 185-200 miles a tank when I got it and its done 68k miles and now im getting 150-170 miles.
    Thanks

  18. Hi Eric! Greetings from Bulgaria(East Europe).I`ve been watchin your videos for a while now. I bought a 1993 VW Passat B3 for what is about 280 dollars. Parts are durt cheap, $13 for fuel pump, $7 for rear wheel bearing(not original VW parts). I was wondering if there are cars in America that can be bought for this cheap and with that cheap maintenance.

  19. Car does a harsh downshift 'round 15 MPH. Dealer did an update to the ECM & transmission software update for 100k mileage. Still not fixed. Suggestions? Worn solenoid?

  20. I have a 97 F150 4×4, my front rotors are warped and need replaced. I was wondering if it would be worth it to get drilled and slotted rotors vs the stock styled.
