  1. Ugh finally found the article .. regards an issue a couple years ago. Perfectly defended here: (albeit this is tennis but still) …I support Novac. If its all got to be about gender equality, then stop dividing male and female matches…Its about economics and reality. In the big leagues nobody is playing for fun. They are playing for the money. Someone is paying the money for a reason.

"Initially I posted this article only thinking about the physical 5 hour battle men players undergo on a grand slam final. But after after brainstorming further into the argument I honestly feel Djokovic is right. Sports is a multi billion dollar industry. Yes today it's the economics that control the game be it for good or bad( that's a debate for another day).
But bring in a pure business angle to the argument, whoever brings in more viwership and sponsorship wins the deal. So unfortunately during this time of open era it's the men's tennis that is ruling the roast. But this isn’t about gender equality; it never has been. It’s about business, and that vulgar little thing called ‘return on investment’.
The tennis governing bodies are business at the end of the day, not philanthropic organizations. They have to look out for what’s in their best interest, even if that means appearing sexist and discriminatory to the casual observer.

The revenue factor is the strongest argument against equal pay for men and women, and in a capitalist environment, also an irrefutable one.

Djokovic should not labelled as a chauvinist. It's a hard bitter truth. Unfortunately. He is still a goodwill ambassador of the game. On and off the field ."

  2. How are the women allowed to look into the men's weight room? That sounds like that shouldn't happen. I guess they were looking for some dicks.

  3. I understand why the Mens get better branding and recognition on the NCAA website as more people tune in to see the Mens Tournament than the Women's. This doesn't excuse the fact that the weight room was just 1 rack of weights, or the crappy arenas, or crappy food.

  4. Right across the board in the US it’s all about male (usually white male) privilege isn’t it? No wonder they see themselves as victims when someone demands to be treated fairly/equally. Then the bleating starts: ‘They’ want special treatment. ‘They’ haven’t earned it. ‘They’ want something I haven’t got (but in fact do).
I’m white, male, privileged and old. I’m sick of all the whining from men about women wanting special treatment or how BLM is actually about treating white people badly. Their rights and needs are your rights and needs and it’s not a zero sum game. Grow up.

  5. Oregonian and Eugenian Pride here! That is right, I am an Oregonian and I am from town of Eugene, home of the Ducks aka The University of Oregon!….feelin' a little homesick now.

  6. Fun fact – fixing racism fixes sexism but fixing sexism doesn’t fix race…all in all America has a long way to go…

  7. Next up I guess the college basketball fans will be forced to apologize for not being interested in woman basketball and not watching it. We are living in a fantasy world of impossible equality. Where are all the dwarfs or midgets in college basketball? Seems like anti dwarfism to me.
