For the people who are looking for more clarity, ICE is calling this fraud because the students applied knowing it wasn’t offering any classes yet paid for tuition. So for what reason then? Good question. The student visa allows you to stay and work in the country legally. So ICE obviously reached out to some really vulnerable people who were just looking for an opportunity to stay and work “legally” and trapped them in an illegal scheme, something they wouldn’t have otherwise committed, jeopardizing the future they have been fighting for in this Country

Citizen arrest the ICE officials that carried it out. They cannot use "the government defense " because the government does not allow its employees to break the law in doing their jobs.
So.. while I agree there should be penalty against anyone here using a student visa without following through with the requirements, this could have been handled better.

ICE took the LEGAL immigration process of Student Visas and relabelled it as FRAUD? Also, the stole money from people like Pirates? I wonder if any of that money made it into Donald Trumps election fund.
If I am a student who seeks education from another country, I first look at the University, then look at the official immigration website, then apply for it. If the official immigration website said its legit, then I have to trust that it is legit and not fraudulent. That is the purpose of these government websites and if they use it as a sting operation, then its their fault and not the students. Students pay good money for these schools too.
If not smart enough to figure it out …. Then not smart enough to go to school in the first place. 👽🖖
