  1. Yank the Jetta motor/transmission, remove all the glass, then have it crushed into a square cube and use as a coffee table or work bench.

  2. Just wondering why you didn't send the bent 'Vette rim to be straightened? They can really make them like new again and they run true and balance fine.

  3. the door electrical harness is different on a GLI. Run the VIN for a JEtta SE and GLI — i m pretty sure it will be 2 different part numbers. Also MK5 and some MK6 jettas/Rabbits/GTIs had a problem with harnesses being pinched causing some issues. ( good luck with this car unless it is sold)

  4. Hop You took the older Goodyear supercar tires with You and sold them in the Bay or somewhere!?

Cause that's what the shop will do.

  5. Some advice to get the lug out of that socket, thread the lug back onto the stud a couple threads, then get a hammer and hit the socket back and forth and it’ll come right off

  6. When you own a German car, expect expensive repairs, both for parts and labor. They drive nice and ride nice, but when they break, be ready to dig deep.

  7. Poor Jetta! I was going to buy one of those, used, but b/c of my (now) ex's whining, wound up with a lease (that I lost in early 2017) on a 2014 Passat. Miss my VW (in part b/c my "new" car is even more boring than my base model Passat was).

  8. Just go to a you-pull-it junkyard get the parts you need, maybe even find them in black, throw them on there and call it a driver. I used to have an old friend (rip) who was a Jewish car salesman. He said "These things ain't Rembrandts, they don't go up in value."

  9. I think I’ve hit every neighbors car of mine. They all stopped parking in front of my house. I’m the only person in a 4 mile radius that has a ten car drive way in San Francisco!

  10. I had some annoying lugs and no key tool to get them off. Took the car to Discount Tire and they got them off and replaced them with normal lugs all for free.

  11. Thats the result of some guy with a screw loose who probably hasnt made it in life and drives a beaten up piece of shit. So he goes around looking for nice cars in lots with no cctv then on purposely drives along the side of them because he is jealous and sad.

  12. One easy method I've found for removing "secure" lug nuts when you don't have the key is to use a dremel. Just slice 2 sides off a bit so they're flat and a good pair of locking pliers will grab hold. 5 minutes tops and you're good to go. Use a standard metal grinding/cutting disc (at about a 20 degree angle off the sides of the lug nuts – that way it fits into the socket indention in the wheel and doesn't chew up the rim), nothing fancy necessary for lug nuts – they're just normal steel.
