  1. Just watched this build and that wasnt from the kero heater (speaking about the paint reactions) those were reactions from using base coat over single stage then you sanded it and created thin spots in the white and the base coat attacked the other paint causing it to craze
Also little fun fact about wax and grease remover it removes just that but if you touched what you were painting with your hands the oil from your hands cant be removed from wax and grease remover
I learned that the hard way but a good habbit to do that sounds crazy is after you wipe down with w&g remover wipe the car down with original windex wipe it until dry then get to spraying also its safe to spray over base coat if you need to dust off the base coat

  2. Next time if you think you may have paint issue's just use waterbased Base coat. It sprays the exactly the same but it won't react up!!!!

  3. Hi guys I’ve been painting cars for about 20 years now. So here’s a little advise. Never paint base coat over a fresh painted 2k gloss or lacquer. It will react like hell. The thinners in the base coat is very harsh it will react with the paint under it. You need to use an isolator coat first

  4. Have you ever thought about just renting a paint booth? I am sure you could find a autobody shop that would rent you some time in one for less than the price you waste in materials each time. Plus you would get a better result.

  5. hey man just a quick tip. Use paper to mask off. Im sure youve experienced previous layers flaking off the plastic and floating around the area. And that wrinkle is definitely too much too fast.

  6. That paint reaction is the new paint stripping off the old paint, you basically left it too long for it to float in or not long enough for the previous coat to dry

  7. That silver is awesome. Please inform your followers that some paints are volatile and could cause an explosion under the right conditions (heater for example). Even dust can explode with a spark. Wouldn't want anyone blowing up their garage! Guys need a workshop in every community…safe working environment. Might be a business opportunity?

  8. Next time seal the car and start out with a lighter coat you went to heavy with the first coat. Also water sand it works much better.

  9. get a new workshop first off, then build a proper paint booth and 90% of your problems are solved

  10. The wrinkle you seen in the paint is due to the solvents in the silver making the white paint lift.. especially around where u sanded the white down… Sand the wrinkles out and very lightly mist the areas to keep from over saturation of those areas wanting to lift on you.

  11. Fed up of trollers on this site! Great vid again Chris, (135 is the asshole count so far)! You and Chelsea have a great Christmas, looking forward to a great B is for Build 2018! Me I'm doing my woodwork, Waney edged Yew side table with Glitter resin filler.
