The Acura Integra & Honda Civic Rear Suspension Rebuild series was actually shot sometime in 2004-05. This is the very first EricTheCarGuy video to exist. You may also recognize the car because I ended up buying it years later and it’s appeared in a few other ETCG videos. I believe this video laid the foundation for what I was eventually going to become.
The audio unfortunately isn’t all that great, but the content is excellent. The rear trailing arm bushings on Integras and Civic’s go out all the time. So if you need to replace them, this video can help guide you through the process. I know I say in the video it will be difficult without a lift, and it will, but it can still be done. Just be sure to place your jack stands properly. The hardest part will be finding leverage. Also, you WILL need an alignment when you’re done. When you are done, and if you choose to use the solid bushings like I did, I think you’ll be pleased with the improved handling.
Lastly, they now make a special tool for removing these bushings that makes things a LOT easier. Here’s a link.

Bastards at the junkyard charged my an extra $40+ for the wheel hub/bearing assembly.
I just use a Sawzall and cut the two metal pieces into little pieces
Are these types of bushings much better than the original ones? My integra keeps breaking the front lower control arm inner bushings every 3 months, should I try these? Please answer!

etcg! I'm in a huge pickle. I cross threaded the rear upper control arm where it bolts to the body. any suggestion on a fix? I imagine ill need to re weld the part where the bolt goes in because it is currently spinning.

Those polyurethane trailing arm bushings are junk. They don't allow the full range of motion that the stock bushings do, and end up rotting out after a couple of years.
I did this for my 99 SiR, and to get the trailing arm bushing in and out, I think I just used a hammer to knock the whole thing out, and a hammer to put a new one in. It's been many years since I did it, so I don't recall completely. But I don't recall it being hugely difficult.

I really like how informative Eric the car guy is and watch many of his videos which have been a lot of help. In this case I can help as well. There is an easier way replacing the rear trailing arm bushings by using a specific tool by Schley 65100 by SP tools. This will allow you to press out the original bushing and install a new one with a minimal amount of effort and time. I would also stick with original Honda OEM replacement bushings. Make sure you measure yours and do research since there are several that are availble and you might run into some trouble if they are not the right spec.
so it doesnt matter what way the bushing goes into ? both bushings can work on any side ?
