Ask AC: Do I have to have a Wifi-enabled TV to use Chromecast?

Nope. Just an HDMI port and a nearby power plug. Have a question? Ask it in our Chromecast forums! http://forums.androidcentral.com/google-chromecast/

  3. Can I setup and stream to/through Chromecast without using a Router? For example, using only the Wifi capability of my Android Tablet to the Chromecast adapter?

  4. I don't like the fact that you only play music from play music though the chromecast if you purchased it from the play store

  5. unfortunately I live in Canada and you can not find it in Canada , I couldn't even order from online sites in us to Canada . a message pops up and says this idem can not be shipped outside of us. WTF.

  6. I haven't bothered to read what it does…but does it play music from your phone music library to any other device in this case a Tv with HDMI ?

  7. This might be a dumb question, but can you use chromecast with just your carrier data and not Wi-Fi? My Wi-Fi is too slow. I have lte on my phone and I want to use that. Can someone please tell me?

  8. finally got my chromecast. its awesome! i use it with my chromebook, note 2, and my windows computer. anything on screen i can watch on my tv. emails , apps, and of course free hulu, and google play movies. this was definitely a homerun. had it up and running in like 5 minutes. theres no way anyone should not get one.

  9. How was that a good question? Look at the advertising! It's main selling point is that it can turn any HDMI enabled screen into a "smart TV"
