  1. @chrisfix I have a new edge mustang with a p0455 and it says a large evap leak detected how do Ik now if it’s my purge valve when I hear it open and close a little hiss from it I’ve blown air into my gas cap and it still sends a code

  2. so can i just go buy a new gas cap at autozone or do i have to get on thats for my car. i have a mazdaspeed 3 and the only thing in my gas cap is what turns the rachet broke off so i only have the little filter

  3. Gasoline is a strong solvent, but the additives plus dirt from the road/air can gum up the seal on the cap causing leaks. 3 minutes of cleaning with silicone lube and a qtip every so often should keep the evap system intact and functioning for a long time. Once you start paying attention to it, you’ll be surprised at how quickly the gunk builds up, but a bit of maintenance here will save you $ in the long term – no parts to replace and better mileage from less evaporative loss.
