  1. You know how many times I've done a timing belt on a b series engine and I line up the timing marks on the crank and the cams, put the timing cover and the harmonic balancer on and the timing marks don't line up anymore lol. I fucking hate that thing, I just have horrible luck with them. They seem so straight forward and then that shit happens sometimes. Now I just mark off the belt and the cams and count out the teeth and make sure it goes back on the same way. Cheating but it works lol

  2. Hi there,i have a question if anyone can help,i have a aftermarket TB with a bad tps sensor,it would work a little and then misfire and no throttle response ,car reads :tb blade stuck open so i figured the sensor is bad,can i swap it from my stock TB to aftermarket one or if not what can i do.thank you.

  3. Just wondering if it might have been a choke stuck on the truck that started fast when it was cold but not good when it was hot and was in his opinion lacking power. I was just thinking this because a choke would mess with the air fuel ratio and make it run rich which would make it feel sluggish? I could be wrong.

  4. hey eric, just wondering what do you think of the 2004 g35 coupe. i bought one a few days ago with 44,000 kms and i would be the second owner. are they reletively easy to maintain, whats the first things i should check for when i bring it to my mechanic? thanks man

  5. Great job about the catalyst converter!! People just don't understand them enough, and I keep explaining it, but they act like it's "just another part" that goes bad. But exactly! There's always a reason why it did… It doesn't just go bad. Its always engine related (burning oil, etc). I think they are made to last the life of the vehicle… But of course, with improper servicing and improper maintenance, they will likely go out before that…

    Thanks for your knowledge!

  6. I thought burning oil caused white smoke. I do believe that if a significant amount of oil is being burned, it causes a characteristic smell out the exhaust too.

  7. I've been watching your videos for a while now. Thank you sir for all the videos you've provided us. On another note: I think everything you say is essential. You are correct, there isn't a black and white answer for car issues (every real mechanic knows this) so I thank you for all the knowledge you provide. To me, you never go into tangents, but seasoned insight.
Best regards and utmost respect, your fan.

  8. Eric, I have a 1995 Ford F-150, I am turning it into a serious off road pickup. Now it has the Ford E-4OD trans in it, which as I know, the F 2 and 350 of the same years had. I am looking to bring my trans to a reman shop, as I am aware, there are many kits available to beef up the gears in it, so as it can handle the massive horse power, and torque I am planning to have the engine pushing. I really don't want to have to search for a suitable trans, which is what is leading me to this option, what is your opinion on this idea?

  9. Eric please tell the guy with the 04 Tahoe that the most common cause for his rattle is the steering shaft, way to fix it is to simply unbolt it from the gear box and stroke that shaft a hand full of times, it might sound funny, however what happens is it only moves just a touch and it pushes the grease out and stroking it works the grease back to where it needs to be clunking will be gone for like a year then he will need to stroke his shaft again lol

  10. Great show to end the 2014 season. Clean up for the holidays ok? Again, thanks for the wonderful entertainment and learning experience.

  11. easy start cold and hard start hot could be leaking fuel injectors that are dumping to much fuel in getting it flooded during hot start.

  12. Eric, I don't know why you are down on rebuilds. Maybe it's just that you've never seen a good rebuild. I'm the opposite as I've seen a fair amount of "re-manufactured" engines and transmissions that were absolute junk.

  13. DON'T MESS WITH HONDA IDLE SCREWS! Best part of a live show yet. Great show see you next year. Thank you for all that you do.

  14. For some reason my car idles really low when the engine gets warmed up. Lets say the engine is warmed up, i start the car, it fires up, then it goes well below the 1000rpm mark, like it's gonna die out. Sometimes I have to give it some gas to make sure it doesn't die out. Anybody know the problem? OH yea my car is a 1999 Chrysler Intrepid with 140k miles

  15. Good grief, Eric!  Quit wasting so much time with non-essential blather, and answer questions more concisely.  If Scotty K. can do it, I'm sure you can do it better.

  16. Shucks, maybe somebody can help me out. I replaced the head gaskets on a GM3400 and put her back together and it started fine. Drove 10 feet and realized I could hear  a sucking vacuum leak. Tore her down and rebuilt her using blue silicone around the passages, both sides of the head gaskets and every intake gasket [replaced the crank position sensor just cuz i was there]. waited a day and then she started better than ever….idles fine and sounds fine…..revs fine in park…..but now only  has a 10mph  top speed and no power.
Any body have an  idea what happened? because im an idiot and cant diagnose anything that I cant see whats wrong immediately
    2000 Impala
PS also found an exhaust leeak after, and fixed it, but I dont think it was related….because it didnt add any power after I replaced the dented, leaky CAT.

  17. Cool, Eric. I caught the last two minutes of this. Never had seen your live shows. Gonna have to watch the next one for real. THX.  57

  18. Hey Eric i have 2005 Honda civic si and i recently scanned the car and i got a code P0497 and it says Evap low Purge Flow Faulty and i have no idea where that part is and is there a way to clean it or repair it ?

  19. Gtz Import Tuner te manda saludos! Can you give me some tips on how to do a bcm relearn, antiteft system is active. I tried 30 min procedure, replace bcm, lock cylinder, and sensor above key. Thanks Erick..

  20. oem parts or after market? I need to replace upper control arm on my 1996 Honda Odyssey, ball joint boot is shot. Prices range between $30 aftermarket to $140 for oem. Or replace the ball joint itself only?
