  1. …Even after a year of using the shit out of this handset for a wide variety of tasks, I would not trade this little monster for anything made in 2017 – not even for a U11! With HTC flagships, you have to have a hands-on experience, even if it's through friends still rocking M7s and M8s, as I did – to fully appreciate what you're holding! I realize that isn't good for sales with an Apple and Samsung dominated market, but I chose this animal for USING, not FLAUNTING!

  2. Today in October 2017 I now own a Galaxy S8+, HTC U11 and still have my old trusty HTC 10 which is still as buttery smooth as day one. The build quality is something I appreciate now after all this time. Every time I pick it up it feels like something special and that audio is boss! Waiting for Android Oreo on this puppy 👍

  3. Although on the Galaxy S7, I like the TouchWiz UI, S-AMOLED screen, and the amazing camera (outside of the LG Cam and Leica stuff found on some of the Huawei handsets), I have always been turned off by the factory-preloaded unremovable bloat, poor headphone jack output quality without first installing a third-party EQ app (or going to wireless), and non-support of the adoptable storage option on Marshmallow… Being a former mid-range Moto G user, I initially wanted to go the flagship route within the Moto realm, but with the X now out of production and on limited support, that left the new Moto Z…All those expensive modular add-ons (especially for decent on-board sound quality) on Z were a turn-off, and had me saying, "Goodbye Moto! " …Then a couple of friends showed me their HTC One M8 and M9 (The M8 user has a U Ultra phablet on order now)…I liked the Sense UI, the great quality headphone support (although they changed the external BoomSound config – still getting used to that, but I like the fingerprint sensor that got put on the bottom), and the speed for gaming and photoediting…I became interested in HTC…When the girl at my carrier showed me the functions of the HTC 10 (including an improved camera and adoptable storage support), I was hooked!

  4. I'm considering the OnePlus 3T, HTC 10, and Pixel phone. Which should I go for? I am a casual photographer (meaning I don't need a really awesome camera), and I do listen to a lot of music, so audio quality is important. I also don't want a bunch of bloatware, and I want reliable software. Can't argue with the price of the OnePlus 3T, but price is not so much a factor.

  5. It's true, I really wanted LG G5 but then HTC 10 came along, it sways me. What I like about HTC is HTC Sense. But, LG G5 is so innovative with its modular thingy and the camera is just wow. I'm using LG G2 now for 3 years with no problem, so I know the quality of LG phone is probably better than HTC (I've used HTC Desire HD before LG) , once the battery of the phone got the problem after 1.5 years, then you will have to buy a new phone. But. I don't know, HTC 10 looks so good, the built in DAC, the OIS in the front camera, the fluidity of the OS, and yes, HTC Sense! Can anyone help me to decide? Optus sell LG G5 and HTC 10. It's a matter of timing I could go to Optus to buy the phone (Optus Australia).

  6. tbh it would have been better if it had been a 4000 mAh battery rather than just 3000….

    😑😑😑

  7. I got a HTC 10 and this phone got a better build quality than samsung. Just look at the bottom, every single grill on the 10 is beautifully chamfered and the S7 just suddenly looks cheap by comparison. You guys should check out the pocketnow's 10 vs 7 video.

  8. Get an Apple iPhone 6S or Samsung Galazy S7 if you don't want to go wrong with your money. For normal people, both devices will satisfy everything you want especially the fame. Currently own a 6 plus, the bigger screen, battery and OIS are the simple reasons. However, it is quite subjective for people to fork out an extra $100 for the three things above, so does it to S7 edge. If you are curious, i  previously owned 3 Galaxy S (2-3-4)and 1 One Max. Have a good day!

  9. i'm just waiting for sony x performance,and xperia x
this snapdragon 820 and 4gb ram is not usefull at all
i mean what do you want to do with a phone? play witcher III in 60 frame? of course no
and qhd display is hust waste a money and waste a batterylife for only 60ppi more than hd
of course sony x performance has the largest front facing sensor with 13 mp this is awesome

  10. most revolutionary LG G5, most improved HTC 10, best phone no one will have P9, best phone S7 Edge. All of these phones are great and this really this is the golden age of Android devices but for me the one device that made me unload $795 without hesitation and give up my Nexus 6P was the S7 Edge because of the screen, ergonomics, speed, features, camera, battery, and overall look. TouchWiz isn't everyone's favorite but it's very mild compared to previous years. In the end HTC always let me down with some software bug, inferior camera, and terrible battery life. LG even with their all metal build (joke) feels cheap and the modules have no use for me and the phone feels and looks big.

  11. You said HTC copied some features from LG? Are you kidding me? Did you even know who were the pioneers before? The company which manufactures refrigetrators and ovens n other consumer durable items cannot beat a master of phones' era. And when it comes to built quality or just "quality" you can easily pick the HTC up..

  12. Sigh, Android Authority… Calling everything new that comes out the best ever and giving it their 'prestigious' Editor's Choice Award, lol

  13. The HTC seems like a quality high end device and could save HTC from the "Scrap Heap" of failed cellular phone companies. A better camera, boom sound and Quad HD are all good improvements. Looks like a solid, high quality device.

The LG G5 is a "Hunk of Junk". This phone was advertised as "All Metal" and that is a flat out lie. The body is plastic and it has been painted or coated with a "metal like" finish. The build quality is not flagship worthy at all. It feels "Cheap" in the hand. The "Magic Slot" seems to be a gimmick of dubious value. No one seems to be able to tell what the B&O sound module is for and it seems that LG has pulled it from the U.S. market.

Questions regarding the specs of these phones: Samsung advertises their 4GB of RAM as DDR4 RAM, which they say is 80% faster than the DDR3 used in competitor phones. Does this make a difference is performance in real life?

What effect does the Vulkan AGI have during gaming n the S7 compared to the same games on other flagships still using OpenGL? What does the dedicated Game Launcher actually do?

Samsung also says their version of the Qualcomm 820 is liquid cooled. Are the other makers using liquid cooling too?

  14. HTC wins for me. especially because of the unlockable bootloader. I will root it or brake it. which ever comes first.

  15. Correction the HTC10 IS IP53 water resistant. Don't like gimmicky G5 – module build is just that. HTC well thought out, well built. Hopefully price in Australia will be competitive.

  16. I'll wait/hope for the 10 Max or HTC Nexus! I also don't see it selling that we'll bc nothing stands out (to the general public) and is overpriced imo.

  17. The HTC 10 has stolen a buy from the g5 for me. I'm waiting 30 days from now to see if there are rumors of the next nexus phone. If not I'll be upgrading from my g4 (heck I have a free upgrade why not!)

  18. I've been using a Lg g flex2 for a while and i was looking forward to get a Lg V10 since it has embedded a HI FI DAC.. Then i saw the new HTC 10. And i'm pretty sure that this will be my next upgrade since Lg does have Overheating issues and UI problems. LG does not support the customers at all.

    HTC here we go!

  19. Best phone right now is between HTC 10 and Samsung S7 edge, S7 edge is more flashy and has a better screen, however I will use my S7 edge just for Gear VR once HTC 10 is out on Verizon, because at the end of the day, usability is most important. Sense > Touch wiz.
