  1. I'm so glad I don't live in NYC or any other massive city. Being around all those people would make me want to throw myself off one of those skyscrapers.

  2. The biggest issue with the video was the camera guy kept panning WAY too quickly! How many movies have you ever watched where the camera was panned that quickly? A proper cameraman was needed to do the phone justice.

  3. wish they finally produced a phone with smooth video recorder. I mean, yeah, this is really cool and nice, but I still miss the fluidity in there. Staying on my S3, let's see what S5 will have to offer.

  4. You shouldn't be moving the camera anyway. If you pan the camera at all, it should be very, very slow. Camera blur is caused by slow shutter speeds. Slow shutter gives you better image quality in lower light. It's also a cell phone, not a dedicated video camera. As a filmmaker, we learn our limitations on all our equipment, and do our best to avoid the flaws like above. It's good to see what this camera can and can't. If this was in the hands of a pro, people would scream "False advertising."

  5. Don't forget that youtube compresses the hell out of these vids too.
A 311MB video get's compressed to about 77Mb, and the larger the video / quality, the more you get to see that.
Although I must say compared to s3/note 2, it's indeed stuttering and less sharp/ crispy!

  6. Can you point out which segment of the video the stuttering is?. When panning left-right it's normal to have some blurriness specially in a smartphone.

Besides, the video is running at 30 fps. This is what's considered the standard.

For a smartphone the quality if incredible. If you think you can do better then you should be working for Samsung.

  7. I can't even finishing watching without getting a headache. The stuttering really messes with me, much like HFR videos where the camera keeps flying all over the place.

  8. I'd rather an ultra smooth, stutter free video of lesser quality then what's in the video. Maybe the S5 or 6 (assuming they release in future) will be smoother but you'd think they would of nailed in on the S4 since the S2 & 3 had 1080p also, for them to improve upon

  9. This video is not very good . Is this a pre production s4? I hope the video is improved before retail launch it stutters and drops frames too much.

  10. I don't think it is the camera itself. If you play the video at a quality lower than 1080p, there is no stuttering.

  11. Have to ask, were these recordings put on a certain setting? Because there is indeed stuttering in these samples and whilst it's not too noticeable, it is still present and shouldn't be there.

I'm currently looking at other test recordings and some (not all) have some form of stutter too.

Whilst this won't stop me buying the phone, this stutter is very off-putting and I hope Samsung become aware of this very soon.

  12. Meh, nothing too impressive, same lighting issues as the Xperia Z, seems nobody has reinvented the wheel this year at all.

  13. That is incredibly crisp and vibrant! What makes the quality of the camera on Galaxy S4 better is that they didn't blatantly praised the camera unlike the Apple who can go on for an hour talking about the graphite lens cover which produces purple haze.
