MWC 2016 Podcast with Special Guests!

It took way too long to get this episode out, but the spotty WiFi connections across Barcelona and the 5+ GB size of the original YouTube edition kept Josh from getting this special podcast out to you earlier. So sorry, but not too much because this episode is still EPIC.

Coming to you live from ‘the other side of the pond,’ Joshua Vergara is joined by a great group of special guests to bring you this MWC 2016 special episode. Nicole Scott (@nicole_scooter), Jaime Rivera (@jaime_rivera), Michael Fisher (@Captain2Phones) and Myriam Joire (@tnkgrl) all recount their first days of the show in Barcelona, Spain. Talk about the Samsung Galaxy S7 and LG G5 lead to a spirited discussion on the Launcher situation on Android. Check in to see how these five feel about the idea of removing the app drawer and so much more on this 90 minute special episode.

Our regular hosts will have plenty to say about MWC next week, but for now, enjoy the party atmosphere from the show, and be sure to watch the YouTube version for even more fun.

  1. The only reason I follow mobilegeeks is Nicole. The rest of their crew is uber-boooriiing. I wish she quit and joined Pocketnow or Android Authority.

  2. 2 things i want android to improve to beat the hell out of IOS

    Fast android version updates
Best battrey optimization or better battery

  3. Gotta admit, this was one of the best podcasts I've ever had the pleasure of watching. Love this format! you guys should do late night podcasts with guests & booze! Super glad you guys found the time to get together and do this.

  4. Michael just keeps looking at the audience, shaking his head like "sorry guys, I do not known where this is going either" 😅

  5. Oh man, I always look forward to these MWC podcasts because it's literally my favourite technology's all in one place. Last year HTC were derided & gushed over, in equal measure, for the M9 and Vive VR. At least the conversation has returned to phones. However, I still think you all will change you tunes between S7/Edge and LG G5 when you all get to do a full review. There's no way in hell that the 2800mah battery life on the G5(replaceable or not)will be anything less than appalling running LG's terribly optimized software. The S7 3000mah & S7 Edge 3600mah even if TouchWiz actually got worse(it's actually improved over the much trimmed down 2015 version)can only have great battery life on the S7 & stellar battery life in the case of the Edge. I do get it, though. As true tech heads, we all love it and get a buzz when an OEMs change it up drastically and push the envelope. What LG tried to do was admirable, the reality of what they achieved is far less so. As G3 owner, I really wanted David to defeat Golliath, but they haven't. I used to love LG's high screen to body ratio and the buttons on the back was like there signature design, but gradually these phones are getting flabby from the G3-G4-V10 & now the G5 actually has a smaller screen about the same size footprint as it's predecessors and is gained weight too, but still with that pitifully sized battery. Both devices will have stellar camera performance, for sure & for different reasons, but real world we do a lot more than that and when you've lived with them a couple of weeks, I'm sure you're decisions will be very different…

  6. I'm pretty sure there is an app drawer for the G5. You had the option to put it on, just as what you have on the SGS7.

  7. g5 does have an app drawer.. Setting-> Home screen -> Select home -> Easyhome
You'll get an app drawer icon on the bottom right of your home screen

  8. Drinking to drunk podcasts should be a standard. Because you start relaxed with opinions then spiral into epic. Great podcast! Saved with YouTube Red

  9. I think what Samsung means as innovation with sd card on there phone is, we all know Samsung use ufs memory in there phone so sd was way to slow to load but now they figured a way for it to work faster in loading time with sd and ufs memory and yes there's no adopted memory on S7 on 6.0.1 but maybe they have not figured that out yet for sd to run and load up fast as ufs memory does so they maybe trying to say we innovated a way for sd to work with ufs memory well kind off but the catch is u can't use it for adoptive storage yet as where not there yet.

  10. & btw u guys don.t know so many details about the phonese, u have to remind each other stuff all the time. omg – i know all the details u are talking & i.m not even a reviewer

  11. I hope that Google will enable a feature so that users can enable or disable the app drawer. As I really think that would appease all android users.

  13. I'm surprised how long you guys go one iteration ahead in your criticism in galaxy's. s3 was the most popular. s4 started the bloat with the finger hovering stuff. and s5 started the fingerprint scanner. too much beeeuhs
