My last review of the DCF813S2 didn’t go so well. Or it might be better to say, it didn’t suite my purposes of being an alternative to my pneumatic 3/8 impact. So I’ve decided to try the 18v 3/8 impact from DeWalt. As you can see in the video, the results were very different. Granted, there are a few things about the 18v that I don’t like so much, like the oversized battery, but the power output is perfect for my needs. So if you were disappointed with the last review, I hope this one helps set the record straight.

I bought this the day this video was uploaded and still use this thing all the time! Unfortunately one of my batteries exploded while charging but at least it came with 2 batteries. this things a trooper

Dewalt just come out with a new 12 V brushless impact I bought one I love it it won’t do heavy bolts like frame bushings or anything large but it will takeoff Lugnuts caliper bracket and such
U should get the 20v dewalt lithium ion battery for best resolt n more power
DeWalt seems to make some good tools even if they're not 100% made in the U.S. I just recently purchased the DCF883M2 kit (roughly the same case, but the 20V lithium battery version). Managed to find a great deal on eBay for just under $220.
I'm not a professional like you, however, I like to consider myself a very capable hobbyist/DIY-er. I purchased this impact kit mostly so I would have impact power at the junkyard since I have a good air compressor setup at the house. It's going to help if I don't have to waste my energy breaking bolts loose under the relentless sun during the hot Texas summers in the yards.

Do a review on a DeWalt DCF894. It is a midrange 20V lithium ion. Lithium ion batteries don't have a charge memory like your 18v ni-cd batteries and give full power until they are dead. I also have a dcf899 which is massive and too much power for almost anything on a vehicle.
Nice review and I enjoy your videos. I'd like to point out that Lithium Ion battery technology, unlike older NiMh batteries, supplies constant voltage until it quits. Hence the tool keeps it torque throughout the battery's life. On the other hand, NiMh battery voltage decreases as it drains, and the the tool's torque drops with it.
I have a 14.4 v impact gun that works great on aluminum with out cracking or stripping but i usealu use it to run down fasteners real quick before i tighten them by hand i.e lug nuts, brake caliper bolts and accessory pullies on the front of the engine just to name a few
hey eric, or anyone else. im thinking of picking up a WIRED electric impact gun until (maybe) i get upto a compressor and a pneumatic one. The first job will be replacing two very rusty 18 year old struts, i've already been soaking the nuts in penetrating oil for a week now will a 1/2" 230 FT LB gun do the job? Thanks.
On the fine prints you will read that the 12v is actually 10.8v with a 12 volts peak

Great tool.. Way better than snap on for price. You cant go wrong with this tool. The 1/2 drive 18 volt bigger brother dewalt impact is superb for tire changing, rated at 300 ft lbs.
Try the 12volt milwaukee fuel
why not get the 20v lithium ion
20v 1/2" call it a day
I feel like the Milwaukee 12 volt 3/8 impact would be a much better tool for your purpose
it actually puts out 20 volts
