B is for Boat – DIY Amphibious Car Finale

To celebrate our 100K subscriber milestone we’ve decided to get a boat, but not any boat, a car boat! In this three part series we take our BMW E46 and turn it into a boat.
In this episode we wrap up construction on the car and head down to the river! But not without a little excitement first.

  1. and 3 years later he's building an LS twin turbo manual Huracan… you make us proud Chris! hopefully I'll run into you at SEMA again!

  2. foam just ads weight in a buoyant structure. making that hydrodynamic as well you could pull the bow/motor above the waterline just sayin

  3. out of all the amphibious car builds ive seen nobody thinks to weld fins on the driveshaft effectively making a propeller.

  4. so the foam on the inside of the car shouldn't help buoyancy because all its doing is adding weight?

  5. weld the exaust pipe way higher and pressurize the internal systems that keep it running and make the intake higher and you can drive underneath water
