We take a quick look at a simple way for rooted users to change from the phone styled home screen and UI on the Nexus 7, to that more often found on larger tablets.

  1. I got my samsung galaxy tab 2 7inch.
Phone UI really fits good with 7 inch tablets, but when it comes to 10 inch, tablet for sure.

  2. Is there a potential way to do this WITHOUT root. I myself have no experience rooting and wouldn't like to do any rooting, as my PC is very outdated, and I fear it wouldn't work.

  3. Yeah, most people are right about the compatibility with a lot of market apps once the DPI is changed. I may give it a try if I find it compelling. But, I'll probably wait for a great rom to come out for this device to do any rooting.

  4. awesome , worked great. I have it at 170, so it seems a tad bit small, I set font to huge and its still a bit too small for me, may try 175

  5. Only, google intended for it's users to do whatever they wanted with the device. That's the joy of their "nexus" brand devices.

  6. Appreciate the information presented in the video. Thanks. I echo some of the other comments regarding video quality and sound. Android Central is the premier android destination on the web and you should start acting like it. Presenters shouldn't sound like they're 20 feet away from the camera. Real microphones should be mandatory. Also, tone down the background music so that we can barely hear it. We're here for the information, not background beats.

  7. aint gonna lie. the quality of androidcentral's videos are pretty crappy.

buy a real mic and turn the background music down. yall can do better

  8. It was just a few steps in ROM Toolbox.. you could've followed the actual visuals and not bitched about the music lol. but good video! the Nexus 7 looks very good!
