Budget Lotus Evora Pt 11 – The Teardown Continues

In this episode I remove the door panels and disconnect all the electrical components in the doors to then be able to remove the doors. After that I turn my focus to the rear bulkhead, removing all the fiberglass pieces from it and the foam backing to gain access to the damaged parts.

  1. Doing all this dusty fiber stuff with naked skin, without vacuum and ventilation is just not worth your health dude. Rebuilding your health few years down the line won't be on a budget if even possible in full extent… Plus, why aren't you covering dash and engine with foil, to save yourself lots of cleaning time and preventing any dust getting into mechanical parts? I really enjoy your videos, but please don't run your health down with this dust.

  2. There’s a documentary about the creation of the Evora where they explore what a nightmare the entire process was. If you saw that first, you would never have attempted it. Great work!

  3. Bit thumb up on this video. What you're doing seems so overwhelming. I watched another video on how some of these advanced cars are glued together and as you were cutting it apart, I was getting anxious about how impossible it all seemed. Looking forward to how you solve the body problems. Maybe once I see the new parts, it will make the path seem more clear. I'm impressed by your positive attitude! Keep it up. Super inspiring shit!

  4. surely the bulkhead is symmetrical… Why dont you remove the entire center section (window surround section) – the passenger side is in good enough shape to make a template from – reverse it for the driver side and fabricate a complete replacement?
