Aside from their version if Android, it's a solid phone.
But, they go backwards with making it like iOS. Not sure the logic here.

Mate 7 owner, here is my review compared to my previous moto x 2013:

-Badly implemented keyboard is no priority for phone's software. Task manager kills it while doing other tasks. This happens quite often.
-Sometimes screen will not turnoff if keyboard is active.
-Keyboard gestures not working as intended.
-Secret outdoor bright setting (Why to keep it secret?)
-Swiftkey works terrible. I guess the app is not designed for Kririn SOC or something.
-Homescreen redrawing… too often.
-Killing radio app quite often.
-Slippery
-Greenish screen (old/low quality lcd? Bad callibration?).
-Long charge time.
– Somtimes internet browser freezes, no matter if it is chrome or huawei's browser.
-Some notifications cannot be read due to the colour of the interface.
-Heaphone jack has low volume output (compared to similar price phones)
-Low volume earspeaker (very hard to hear calls, mayor flaw)
-Weak vibrator
-TERRIBLE loudspeaker.
-Playstore crashes a lot.
Veredict: it presents many flaws mostly due to poor software implementation. Some of them hard to ignore. Also presents some low quality hardware for it's price range such as the loud speaker or earpiece.
The good (again, relative to previously owned moto x 2013)
-Screensize. Pixel density is overlyhyped, many times you won't see mayor diference between HD, FHD nor QHD unless you know what you are looking at, but 6 inches instead of 4.7 or 5? Yes, you notice that..
-Premium look. It really looks good and catches the eye. If I could upload some pics of people looking at my phone for first time, their "wow" expression is so evident…While my little moto was always diminished as cheap (despite it is not).
-Far better signal than moto X. Moto X signal is not bad, but the hability of Mate 7 to catch the wifi signal of my 3rd floor modem while being in the basement is more than evident.
-It has a radio
-It has expandable storage
-Better display (it is a cheaper technology, and it looks greenish, yet it is still brighter and larger.
-Better battery.
-FAR BETTER camera. It is another level. Motorola phones are for those who do not look for a good camera.
-Generally more powerful
Veredict, it was a good upgrade considering the price it was launched in my country (3 dollars simbolic price, 18 months 30 dollars contract). Yet in many aspects, moto x 2013 may be slower but more reliable.
i'd like to see a the honor 7 vs oneplus 2 vs the new lg nexus 5(when it comes out) vs the huawei nexus 6(again, when it comes out)
