  1. I never cut a window out of a lotus but when I work at they have what they call a hot knife what it is it operates off air and works like a jigsaw

  2. Im an autoglass installer and if you ever need advice you can reach out to me. Ive done windshields on almost every kind of car including lotus and even though its all similar they arent all created equally. I would definitely not recommend using hand wire to fully remove any window as it is one of the more difficult ways to get a windshield out, even if its smashed like that. I realize its an older video but this is an awesome project and Im sure youve removed lots of glass since then and will in the future! If you need tools or tips please let me know!!!!! Its really easy for an inexperienced installer to do a hack job or someone that has no experience at all can make an install unsafe for the driver or more difficult for the next installer. Awesome channel!!

  3. I'm commenting 2 1/2 years after the video was posted, and IDGAF!

I've done fiberglass work on my boat. Before I got started, it seemed daunting. After getting a little experience, it was pretty easy. It was much easier than learning how to weld, IMO.

  4. 5:58 Dumbass… 🙂 But it's the kind of thing you gotta try at least once in life, right?
I guess I'm too late to point out you could have taped up the glass from the inside, ya know, to keep things tidy… 😛
Love the series, binge watching the lot of it!

  5. "The Lotus Evora is a great little car the design is innovative and the power weight to ratio is really good if you improve the cooling and put a nice sized turbo that will accentuate the power, but putting a better transaxle preferably,a MR2 manual gearbox 6 speed would do the trick, just rebuild it and upgrade some of the inner parts for reliable synchronization and shifting power,to take the stress of the increased power. A Great little car"

  6. Best fiberglass shops are boat shops. Car shops just copy what boat builders and repairers have been doing since the 60's. BUT some of those guys are slow

  7. I think it's worth mentioning that the windshield is an important structural safety component. The passenger airbag deflects off the windshield to work properly and it is a main structural support for the roof in the event of a rollover. Don't skimp on the windshield installation, have a professional do it.

  8. I'm not sure it would be best, but you could use carbon fibre matting to repair the shell, it's stronger, so you might be able to use less and have a strong repair?

  9. Dude, of all the things you've taught yourself, and the body work skills you've already learned, fiberglass repair should be a walk in the park! Try it yourself first!
