  1. HTC has failed, is failing, and for the forseeable future, will continue to fail in delivering a great camera on a phone. That is what is killing them right now. The one thing EVERYONE demands to at least deliver for them, and NO HTC PHONE EVER has delivered as nearly as much as Apple, Samsung, and Nokia.

And VR will not right their sinking ship at all. If VR became the "next big thing," most every household should've had an Oculus or something similar. VR tech now is still NOT technologically feasible enough to be accepted by Joe and Joanne.

HTC is doomed because they were too cocky. They assumed that a metal phone will sell. But if it can't shoot or makes you feel empty, then that phone is NOT worth buying. Apples make you feel rich and prominent. Samsungs make you feel productive. An xperia hooks you into the world of sony. And what does HTC offer? NOTHING.

  2. HTC will imo always make phones. This is all about planned obsolescence. In the corporate offices somewhere Sam. And HTC execs knew q1-q2 15' is about both galaxy s devices not the one line. HTC is okay with that because in the list of planned obsolescence their redesign is in 2016'. It's in plain sight, the galaxy s3 (Beautiful phone btw ) was the last REAL REDESIGN of the S line leading up to the S6 launch. And what phone came to market later that year after the S3 SPOILER it was the all new original all metal HTC one. Hmmm. The next HTC in 2016 will be completely different from the one m9. Just wait for it u heard it hear first.

  3. I dunno about HTC. They ve stagnant since the Hero days. All they focused more on was built quality. Now Samsung is doing it , Sony has done it. The Z series offer waterproof. Samsung topples with the unknown all the time which intrigues people. The HTC needs to find a niche in addition to build quality. This is getting old personally.

  4. release the HTC Butterfly 3 render everyone thought was the One M9 this year. then promote it like apple. change words to give the premium perception. metal-aluminum, screen-display, 720p-Retina, re-inventing gold lol. apple does it all the time follow and do it better.

  5. The camera is one thing that is hurting HTC,nowadays cameras are just as important as the actual phone itself for a lot of people, and the HTC One is a great phone but the camera isn't too good.

  6. HTC needs to focus more on mid & low end market. That is how Samsung has highest dominance in smartphone industry. It is to be precisely noted that Samsung created awesome (one of a kind) flagships for display & attracting consumers to Samsung brand. Once consumer starts liking & trusting Samsung, most of them opt to get mid rangers.
HTC should release flagships that attract consumers & give them option to get great devices in mid range. This is how motorola started eating into Samsung's share by launching mid range moto g. HTC can do the same. Focus on mid range. I think HTC has done great lately by launching desire 816, 820, 826 & upcoming 626.
    Don't quit HTC..!!!

  7. Get Robert in his ironman suit with him talking about his need for the best made and fastest technology out there and bring in the One. Simple.

  8. I hope HTC gets their stuff together. They're my favorite smartphone makers and it would be pretty disappointing to see them just give up.

  9. Im getting ads when my phone gets unlocked and i would love to know what is going on, it only atarted happening since i downloaded the lollipop update. The same thing is happening on my wifes phone as well(lg g3) my phone is the (htc one m8).

  10. I have always loved HTC…I have the M8 (love it) and like what I'm hearing for the M9+. I think they have been a step behind in certain specs on their flagships in the last couple of years, but they always offer a great mix of aesthetics and specs. I can't wait until they release a smartwatch that will get me to finally take the plunge. I'm not really interested in VR.

  11. I see many more Samsung ads than apple, Apple sells partially because brainwashed society, but also it just as good just a different taste

  12. I do ask for tissue paper and cellophane wrap. I've never heard of the brands you mentioned. Eh, your US-centric ads are wasted upon me.

  13. Forget goto assist, use team viewer since it's free for private use (not commercial) and I've helped tons of people with it's use. Also has several handy features like remote booting your PC and controlling it via android, VOIP, hearing sound from other computer and more, all for FREE

  14. Jayce, HTC will have to see this episode bcoz today u have given them a big message y they r behind in market instead of making award winning phone One X, M7 & M8.
I'm a die heart fan of hTC. Its hurts when we listen that company financially had not par there mark. Even after great innovation.
I'm using hTC hero six years but still damn coll phone to hangout with…

  15. You know why they keep failing, cause they still stuck with the same design, colour saturation is still wash off, same boring UI and yeah

  16. In the smart phone industry they should talk about how they where one of the first people to make a all metal Phone that is rugged.
This is one of the things that make them stand out but they need more to set them apart. Maybe more advertisements and partnering up other companies to make their Phone have more cases like Samsung and iPhone. I give the HTC one line a 5*** star rating I never to another device

  17. Htc still makes great phones. And at least up until the galaxy s6 I would say they were much better than samsung phones even if they sold much less. I hope they don't stop making good phones. I'm loving my one m8

  18. Maybe if HTC were known for there phone screens, but they're NOT. Cant see them excelling in VR.
They need to fire their marketing team at the same time. Good phone? but shitty camera! One of the worst for the top flagship phones.
Sony Camera is great, Samsung always has the best camera. One Plus is awesome. Motorola is ok, but the price reflects that as well.
LG has a pretty decent camera and they have dabbled into the QHD realm and produced curved phones

  19. Tbh. Peter Chou is an engineer and him being CEO does restricts him on improving design and what not.

that is probably why I was quite happy that Cher Wang became the CEO

but I do realise that time has changed and this change might be somewhat bad?

  20. HTC your products are way too expensive for what you make and sell. Your cameras suck and after sales are trash. Nano sims???? wtf……get lost.

  21. Hey need to heir if they want to survive or it wont take much time to go 0% , i have become a geek and i know exactly what people want , atleast doing something is better than making those non competitive phones
    Htc heir me

  22. around here, i always tell people that to buy an iphone just because of how easy it is to find replacement parts and cases. believe it or not, almost everyone i talked to asked if there are CHEAP replacement parts and cases IN STORES AND NOT ONLINE. i carry an S5 and would love to carry a one plus one but maintenance and accessories wise, my wallet will suffer and i would have less options.

  23. HTC had one job to do and that was have a good camera better than the iphone. Why was it so hard to do?

  24. there is so much rage against samsung's lack of SD cards. HTC should make an ad showing all the benefits that the SD card provides. just like sony did with the sharing of games for the PS over XBOX. play to the strengths.

  25. i really wish that the SDcard haver HTC 1m9 will outsell the useless iphone like galaxy s6.
but sadly i know that it is not going to happen.

  26. HTC is a great company. If only they would listen to their customers and fix that piece of shit camera that would be great. HTC joined the megapixel war when everyone else is turning their focus to image QUALITY…

Megapixels don't really matter at a certain point, it all comes to a great combination of pixel size (actual sensor size), aperture and good optics. Sure software might help but it needs a GOOD hardware to work with.

Too late HTC that 20.7mp isn't going to convince me that it captures higher quality pictures than my 5mp lumix point and shot from 2005.

  27. I don't think HTC needs to do anything but somehow perceive a word.
Like how when I think Apple, I think "innovative".

Other things to point out, when I think HTC, I think great audio tech on phone and first "3D" phone I ever saw.
