Hi. I am looking at upgrading my skills to Java/Android after 50 years of IT experience. I see this video is 4 years old but nevertheless it could be of excellent assistance. Problem is you recommend using koding.com. The problem is this is no longer a service on the internet. I was led to downloading github and whole lot of other add-ons. This become mission impossible with so many requisites that it turned out to an Apollo 13 mission whereas I was hoping for a Apollo 11 success story. I suggest you upgrade the video to reference an alternative platform where one can focus on the tutorial and not the infrastructure to run it. At least you have taught me to avoid github at all costs.

This video was amazing! Helped clear up some beginner concepts I was having trouble with. I am at the beginning of a Java II level class, without having any prior Java experience, but I think I will be ok, thanks to really great videos like this. Hi Gary, I've just come across this video and could use some help / advice – I have a great idea for an app – but zero coding experience. Learned basic about 40 years ago…then when I was trying to learn assembly language, I gave up because they were using trigonometry as examples and I couldn't distinguish between the example and what they were trying to teach – not having yet learned trig in school..ha ha ha…then in high school, they were teaching us how to save, print, etc ….I was sooo bored I gave up on computer programming then…anyways…so now I am a complete newbie but I would like to learn java for creating mobile apps
I went to koding.com and it seemed confusing…you can open a free open source account but you need to have a project repository and badge….not sure what this is or how to create it…
Can someone give me examples of simple programs that use the different times of loops?
I pity anyone who is trying to learn anything about Java from this video. There were so many misleading things said. If you are new to Java, and you want to learn more about it, this video is not the one you should be watching.

a Java tutorial for beginners should go no where near OOD and Inheritance, especially in a 13 minute video.

Seriously man, I already know the very basics of Java but I wish I had someone that could explain things as clearly as you when I was in my first semester of programming. Good work, I will probably be looking up your other videos as I am trying to learn how to program on Android atm.
