I had to take out a windsheild from the junkyard and it was a pain! We went through so much trouble and finally got it but wound up paying somebody to install it in our car for us.
My other car needs a windshield so i will try it again myself taking one out and putting one in lol
The standard exacto snap off blade is 9 mm the bigger one is a 12mm, I had wondered about the temperature and would a bit of warming with a hair dryer soften the glue and small thin wedges as you work around the glass
I'm happy to know I'm not the only one without a garage

Use soapy water in a spray bottle helps reduce friction
try pulling on that coal knife everyday for 9 hours haha i use it everyday you start with a small side and move your way up to the size you have. if you knew how to use it and had the other 2 sizes you couldve had that out in 10mins by yourself
Kalama flooded then too…about an hour north of Portland, it was pretty bad…town was under around a foot of water, and landslides all over…was pretty crazy

that window removing tool is for front window
i use a serated guitar string
fyi heat gun or torch to heat the window glue will make things much easier for anyone trying this at home and using the tool. I would also caution anyone using tool to be very careful going round the bends it can be very easy to damage the window in those spots! hope someone finds that helpful!

Heat gun plus instead of using a blade sharpen a butter knife (thin if needed) theses are strong and heat knife.

Yea those wires work ok.. But like you saw, they snap often. So use as little as possible because it will and does snap. Just a tip for you and any of your viewers that wanna try it.

I'm a glass installer and I use a cold knife (the tool with the blade and handle) everyday at body shops to cut windows out. You probably just needed to sharpen that cheap blade and I would have flipped the handle part around to the other side of the blade. Also it helps to have 2 of them. I have a 1" blade on one and an 1 1/2" on my other one so that it doesn't take too big of a bite and twist or bend the blade.
