2. Bro just a pointer in case you ever have to do this again. To take a sub frame down, you can use a welding clamp to fasten a long 2×4 to a transmission jack and position it diagonally under the sub frame, take the bolts out and carefully lower it down. Beats the shit out of free handing it. 👍

18. Do not drive a car with no antifreeze it will damage the water pump and do not wait until the low gas light turns on it with also damage the fuel pump.

I just wanted to say I finished my transaxle rebuild and have found the root cause and FIX for the Honda Automatic transmissions of this era, it should include all Accords, Odysseys, CRV, Ridgelines, etc that use this similar design. 26. Kyle! Can u plz help me. Will a 3rd gen odyssey auto go in a 2nd gen odyssey like yours? Reason I ask is the 2000-2005 I think have really bad autos along with the Acura of that era and I think accords. Both platforms are j series engines but I can't find the info anywhere

28. You say new transmission? Newer say that if you bought use one. That will no long time drive. Idiots. Do not drive with out coolant. When you sell this van tell truth buyers that you was drive with out of coolant. Only 7 hours take to change transmission.

29. 2002 Oddy owner here, 127K on the original engine & transmission, I’ve hit the point where I have to drive this thing as if it were a manual with light acceleration & easing off the pedal! 😭😫 after 2nd gear I’m usually fine & it’s been like this since 89K

38. My mechanic took 8 months trying to fix the transmission on my 2002 (same color as yours haha) he had to cut the exhaust to get to the transmission 💀

39. A Honda is a Honda. They had something special (talking about the models before 2005), don't know what, the way they feel, the way the cabin was layout, materials. I'll always remember my 1990 DX Civic and it has been almost 30 years if you count.
