  1. psssssss….. Eric you helped. I took 2 years of automotive technology from, supposedly the best tech school there is on the east coast, And I dare say that from watching your videos, you have taught me the equivalent if not more then what they have. The edumacation you provided has saved countless lives fromdealerships and not just family and relatives but teachers from my school too. pretty funny. so quite a few lives affected by what you have done. So I say both thank you and "stay dirty"

  2. I doubt you will see this, cause you probably don't get notifications on these old videos, but maybe a viewer will see this. I have been watching Eric's videos for years and am currently watching through every single video. The guy has not changed anything but his hat. The videos are exactly the same…albeit better quality and not in multiple parts. Haha. Thanks Eric. Only 307 more to go….

  3. I respect you more than you could ever understand eric! you are a great person and your videos help me SOOO much, don't let the haters bother you! Stay dirty!

  4. If only more people were this willing to help others the world would be a better place.  Kudos Eric and keep it up (which we know you do because this video is a bit old haha)

  5. This hurt my heart so much. To see your eyes drilling that stare into the camera lens drove the point home so much. Eric, you haven't "changed" in a negative way, you have EVOLVED into such a wonderful YT personality that I hang on my seat with excitement for the next video cluster. You are so loved by probably a quarter MILLION people. Please don't ever lose your passion. Please?

  6. Eric, I just recently found you on here, my head gasket went out, so I looked for that on youtube, came across the vid of you taking apart the Integra engine, you answered a lot of my questions as to how the engine works, I knew quite a bit already, but wasnt sure about the internal workings. So Thank You! I like what you do. And dont think about the negative, do your thing, we all love your videos, and will be here to watch!

  7. I bet you hurt the feelings of everyone that actualy does have rocks in there head from a severe accident at a rock quarry… lol

  8. I know this video was posted several months ago, but in the slim chance that you read my comment, don't let anyone get you down and keep doing what you're doing. You don't owe anyone anything. There's no need for you to justify yourself. The naysayers aren't paying you. You're here giving free help and instruction to those who need. Even seasoned mechs like myself find it entertaining to watch your vids, and yes I still learn things from watching how other people perform certain tasks.

  9. Keep up the cool videos, really appreciate the information and help with carrying out my own repairs. Best repair guy on the net!

  10. Sounds like you had a day when the people spewing negativity your way got to you. It happens to all of us. The most important thing to remember is that is a small percentage of the people who watch your channels.

  11. You sure aint the guy you used to be. You're 100 x better. Editing and putting up videos is very time consuming which is why I haven't attempted it. But I might. We'll see. This trade has really burned me out the last few years and I might recover.

  12. You ARE helping this 18 year old with a just above minimum wage job who pays to go to school full time while working full time. Thanks man, you help a ton!

  13. I find your video and reference videos very informative. Your videos are awesome. A lot better than a lot books I read about cars.. Keep up the great stuff..

  14. Eric, don't let anyone get you down. You are a great service to everyone out there, whether they know it or not. Hell, I picked up a few tricks here and there as well and I've been tinkering with cars for a while myself, and being a mechanic is a possible career for me in the future. Definitely a fun hobby, except when you bust knuckles on that damn crossmember. ha. Thanks for the posting up some of my links, take care of yourself, and until next time, stay dirty.

  15. Eric, its disheartening that people would think that about you. You have helped me a great deal and i find that your vids are informative and entertaining, and have only gotten better over time. Especially the full engine replacement vids. Keep up the great work, and those who are hating can go pound sand.

  16. And you do all of this FOR FREE!!! Eric we all change, it's part of life, you definitely have changed FOR THE BETTER!! Don't let one ASS bum you out, you have soooooo many more who support you and will continue through the growth and evolution of your shows. Oh and one more thing…. uh this is YOUR work, YOUR efforts, YOUR time.. so in my book do what EVERY you want because in the end yes you want to make the viewers happy, but YOU have to be as well or else it's not worth it.

  17. love the videos man FATR's are awesome.. just because the rock heads dont get what they wont dont mean you need to listen to them! if i had to guess what my two words i shouldnt say were they would be f..k off

  18. @PUREAAMERICAN Sorry to rant, but I am tired of people constantly berating mechanics as a whole. While there are many bad mechanics there are also many good ones. And for the people who besmirch mechanics and think the work is easy, they are sadly mistaken. First you need an ever increasing assortment of tools including diagnostic scanners, then you need the ability to make an accurate diagnostic assesment, then you need to be physically able to work on cars all day.

  19. Keep it on thischannel! As a side note I wish people understood how much harder independant shops / mechanics have to work, no parts department across the hall, SST's for several MFG's, ordering parts, etc. Dealerships don't care about the customers, and want to sell high priced maintence packages which are lucrative to dealerships. Independant shops windup with much more heavy line work (engines/transmissions) and tight budgets. The mechanics work harder, for less money and little benefits

  20. I vote for deleting the FATR 32 video and jump to the FATR 33, this might be the first video of ETCG that I really don’t like. I don’t have facebook.

  21. hey Eric i dont know if you know much about shocks but you probably do. I have a 1999 GMC sierra 4×4 with a 3in lift and big tires on it with a v8 5.3L engine. Would Rancho RS5000 high performance shocks be a good match for my truck ? please reply your alot of help. Thanks man

  22. I can't vote on facebook but i vote FATR stays on this channel and i'll explain why.

In FATR episode 1 you specifically mentioned that the FATR could be a weekly wrap up, interesting things that are happening in the automotive world, etc. You've shown that by introducing us to new automotive related youtube channels etc in addition to youtube clips. It's exactly what you said it could be.

  23. Eric,

We all change and when I am told I am different from the past that is a compliment not an insult.

A little disappointed in your response to criticism. Criticism is good not bad and comes with the territory so you need to learn to use it to improve. You response should have been different. So many people don't know how to accept criticism and react wrongly.

You are better than this video shows you!

  24. You deserve your own cable tv show man! I would love to see you on Speed, or even PBS. So many shows out there is all about overhauling some clunker into some show car, with little educational useful information throw in. Or you see a lot of shows where the project has unlimited budget, and is really nothing more then advertisement for that weeks sponsors, again not much useful how too stuff is shown. In my opinion you would be a fresh face, useful repair how too for everyday working person.
