  1. @mnguyea The Gen 9 tablets are reported to be some of the best on the market in actual fact. I am not really sure how you are in a position to say otherwise when the products isn't even available in many countries quite yet!

  2. @sh9683 My current Archos (A70) does ebooks pretty well. It's really just the software that matters. I use FBReader, which is great because it can recognize all of the formats you might want (.mobi, epub, pdf). I'm sure that you won't have any problems with the new Gen9.

I must say that I think Archos took a step back in terms of design with Gen9. My Gen8 A70 is sleek and all black. The new Gen9 looks chunky and is grey and black. I think they should have stuck with the old design.

  3. @dankuro97 I've heard it as 2 usb ports, both host but at same time they may lock the dongle 1 to be just for that use

  4. I think I might have to get one, I just sold my HD PVR, and my archos 5 IMT wont turn on any more, so may purchase one of these

  5. @mnguyea i disagree i never bought archos tablets because of no offical android market and the specs werent competive now that the specs are top notch and offical market i might pick up the archos 10 g9 250gb version it retails for 470 when its released maybe ill buy if you gets to my 399 sweet point

  6. @roboghost7 lol i know what you mean i almost got an archos 7 instead of an ipod touch but no android market so i got the ipod touch now rocking the evo 3d and want a tablet and this is the first time i can say that archos made a good tablet for the price

  7. *tablet, but the Galaxy Tab 10.1 is too expensive – If Archos has improved at all since the days of the archos 5, I might pick this up.

  8. If one of the tablets main function is for watching films, why have a 4:3 display? I'd buy it without doubt otherwise,

  9. @mnguyea In the 9 months since i've had my A70 (Gen8), Archos has released at least two major firmware updates. And they often are watching the forums and making sure that they respond to their customer's issues.

Now Archos isn't perfect by any stretch, after all, they are at the lower price point. But for what you pay, you get a damn good product. I'd rather spend 275 for my A70 which can do everything an iPad can do and more (flash), than 600 for a silly iPad that is hamstrung by Apple.

  10. I don't know why people waste money on crappy devices like this. archos makes the worst products and you though sammy was bad with updates…how about none ever. I'd spend my money on the other better tablets out there. this is not one of them.

  11. I think archos makes great products but every single device I've ever sold or owned never gets any support after an update which just fixes what should have already work

  12. or you could spend $50-100 extra on an Asus transformer and have proper software support for the future? Not a single archose device has been kept remotely up to date on software.
