  1. Wow… Looking at old benchmark results, this thing was WEAK! Nowadays, ARM-based cpus are incredibly powerful. Still, it served me well for many years. 🙂

  2. sir I have a Google HTC t- mabail I will reset it and I forgot my gmail ID password than how start my mobail ? I will more time tray but how connect internet plz suggest help.

  3. I had the Sidekick LX 2009 right before I got this phone in the past. I miss the fluidity of typing with a Sidekick. This couldn't compare at all, but it was pretty good for it's time. I fell in love with Android the moment I used the G1.

  4. I had this phone my freshman year and god did i love it! Then someone stole it 😡 that keyboard… god i miss it. I would be able to text under the desk with out looking at it so my teachers wouldnt see XD

  5. I would've loved to have one of these in 2008! I would've have been like "whoa, the future!", but back then I only saw the commercials and none of my friends had it, since none of them, including me, cared that much about phones back then, I cared more about PCs (I still do), gaming consoles and audio equipment, now I geek out on smartphones, simply because they are lot like PCs now but in your pocket!

My waiting was well rewarded though, I got a Galaxy S2 early 2012 as my first real smartphone and whoa! I just could not look back anymore, android had come forward just enough to be awesome, and then the whole custom rom and root scene on the S2 was amazing, playing with that, installing lots of different apps, emulators, games, it was a beast even if HD phones were starting to come out that same year.

  6. I remember getting this phone and it was so bad I had to send it back at least 6 times! It always forced closed and the touchpad sucked! However it looked cool and I love the sound it made when I slid it up. 😀 Also I loved to type on it!

  7. "Android phones have come a long way"- in 2017, 99% of all android phones don`t have a physical keyboard. And no matter what they tell you, typing on a screen isn`t cool.
Also, phones like motorola`s milestone 1 were super cool because it`s keyboard/D-pad was very useful when using nintendo emulators. Actually, the Milestone was the second best gameboy i ever had, apart from the DS.

  8. I really want to see G1 with better specs, I have my G1 but it is not working and it can't run anything.

  9. That is not a large or fullsize simcard slot. Back in the days in the 90:s the simcards where as big as creditcards.

  10. Awesomely memories with the G1. The keyboard was awesome for emulators. Rooting and flashing roms constantly. Still remember constantly flashing the website for updates and Tmobile finally rolling out their 3G network.

  11. shit this was my first smartphone and it tooka beating. i actually tried to break it at one point bc i was 14…but i never did break, the batery died after i had it for 2 years and that the end of it.

  12. @Android Authority:
This is actually not an "original sim card". It is miniSIM. Yep, mini. The original was size of credit card. Usually when you buy sim card you get it but people does not rember today that there were phones that took this size

  13. wish they would redo this entire phone with todays techniques and parts. i had this phone for ab a year and that keyboard, oh man. it was so great.

  14. I had one of these I miss it lol , I got it when the nexus one was out though. Which was pretty dumb on my part, that keyboard is sick though.

  15. This phone might look crap today kids, but when it first came to the scene it was so badass.. This is the mother of all android phones today; PAY RESPECT!

  16. I miss keyboards so much. I would kill for a newer phone with a keyboard. I have an iPhone 6+ right now, and while I love it, if something like the HTC One got I keyboard, or the Galaxy S6 Edge, I would drop my iPhone in an instant.

  17. "Back then" Haha as if it was years and years and years ago. damn how everything changed in just a couple of years, AMAZING.
