This is the FIRST modification video that I’ve done and it was fun. I’ve done quite a few accessory installs working at the dealer but this is one of the few aftermarket installs that I’ve done and I thought it went very well and I think my new grill looks great.

  1. With using the razor blade to to trim the plastic for the new grill there is a scraper that holds such a blade, – I use it all the time and it would be a lot safer… m/

  2. Watching Eric use a razor blade is like watching a two-year-old run with scissors. At the end of the day you’re amazed no one got killed but you cringe the whole time

  3. I have 2005 Element purchased new and have driven 138,000 miles with many 1000 miles plus trips and it has never never burned motor oil. But, It needs suspension components like bushings and cv boots and control arms etc replaced now

  4. This video, like your others, is great—-telling me what I need as far as tools and showing little tips along the way to help me complete a job I would never have attempted before! Thank You

  5. Thanks for video Eric – I learned how to remove bumper from it. I enjoy your very good instructional and humor channels.

  6. I know I'm late to the element game. Always been a fan but for last 7 years I worked abroad. Since being back, I picked up and element. Your channel, sir, is awesome. Love folks like you. You make life easier for folks like me who want to learn more. Thank you sir.

  7. Thanks for the vid. Now that I see how easy taking the bumper off is Im going to do several mods like these grills in one day. Ill do fog light add in, new grilles and headlight upgrades. Im thinking a full day by myself. How long was this project for you? 2-3 hrs?

  8. The rear trailing arm just ripped out of my 2005 Element 125k miles. Totally rusted out pan. Anyone have this experience I haven't found a fix yet. Any ideas.?K.G. Vt.

  9. Eric–Thanks greatly for your videos–they've been a world of help in the process of restoring my 2003 Element.
I have a deep gash (imPRESSion rather) in the plastic "bumper' just under the passenger side headlamp. Does this plastic have a memory? It's exceptionally tough plastic. Am `I re-duced to using something like "bumper-bondo" surfacing and then a paint bomb job on the front fender in flat black?? Hope someone has some advice and experience with this.. Thanks!!

  10. Nice! I have an 07' SC Met grey. I love the versatility of these things though the wife calls it a lunch box. She does like the gas millage and was pleasantly surprised at the power it has. Currently having an A/C issue but it does have 146k on it so no complaints other than that. Very safe car as well. Keep the vids coming.

  11. You realize in 20 years from now, some schmuk will be replacing these back to OEM to make original. He will need to buy them on eBay and pay thru the nose for shipping…….I think the stock ones are cooler, but if you want to be different…..

  12. Use a TAJIMA Handy Saw for cutting plastic trim. Woodworker's Warehouse carries them. They cut on the pull stroke (as do all Japanese saws). The blade is very thin and makes precise cuts.

  13. If you spray those plastic clips with silicone first they won't break when you remove them, and they come out a lot more easily, especially on a car that's older.

  14. I miss my friends 2005 Element. It had 200k+ miles on it, and the way it drove it felt like it had less than 50k. It got in an accident and the insurance totaled it.
